Someone posts a perfectly good link to jobs and you come right back with a negative "yes, but."

Over and over with the negative, fault-finding "yes, but" business.

If posts are not helpful to you or do not apply to you, perhaps you could recognize that and let them go? We do not know what would apply to you personally nor are we required to limit our contributions to what applies to you personally. What does not apply to you may apply to someone else . . . that is why we post it.

because you don't know how to search? I don't get it - there are job listings in several states on the website. Why are you stuck on Arizona??

I searched for coding positions and the first one that came up was in Phoenix, I thought that was what the OP was referring to, it looks like a good job, by the way. I don't think that corporation does business in my state. I live in small town USA anyway and I know they're not in my town, I'm not looking to relocate. I have a job but thanks anyway, I was just curious about the link.
it works best to search by state - sorry I did not make that clear
[ In Reply To ..]
For example Texas has a billing associate job that is CPC preferred.

Thanks for clarification, I discovered that when I went back. Arizona was the first state that appeared so I made that assumption. I don't know why I got all the "dislikes" to my post. Apparently I'm supposed to wish for some jobs to magically appear in my city for this employer. I just started a new job about 6 weeks ago and I'm not quitting it to relocate, but I have the right to look out of curiosity just like everyone else. I did not appreciate whoever that was saying that I did not know how to do research or saying that I could not find a job. I don't mean to sound negative or snarky. I do appreciate your coming back and clarifying your post.
I disliked your post(s) - because

You seem to think that posts here are intended for you personally and no one else.

There are more people here than YOU. Posts are intended for everyone.

I saw the OPs post about the jobs as a general idea of what was available in coding, what coding jobs were like, as well as potential leads. It was a good post.

You have been on here for months slamming everything that does not fit with your Eeyore views. The last time someone pointed it out, you changed your name hoping to disguise yourself, but it is obvious who you are by the negativity and circumstances you describe.

People do not like that kind of morose, one-sided negativity. It does not help MTs in considering a career and those of us in the career just get sick of hearing it.

You got more out of the OP than I did, all I see is a link to a web site, it doesn't even say if they are coding jobs. I never said there was anything wrong with it, I just said that company doesn't hire in my area and everyone jumped on me. Hypersensitive much?
well I'm applying for that job in Texas - it may not be called coder
[ In Reply To ..]
but it says CPC preferred and it looks like a good job to me and a place to start.
Not hypersensitive - aleni

Here are 2 of your replies HOURS APART, in which you're still harping about the jobs being in Arizona.

There are billing and collection jobs and coding jobs. The OP said the link looked like it had GOOD JOBS. Instead of you saying, 'I don't see to many coding jobs', you complained that the only jobs are in AZ, not bothering in between posts to explore the site. Maybe some of these jobs offer tuition reimbursement so you could further coding education. That's why you got so many dislikes.

You also have said in older posts that you were looking into Andrews, got a lot of good advice and then you said you can't do it due to finances.......now you say you have a job anyway......
I don't think she's the same person - who cannot afford Andrews at this time

Just to be fair, that looks like a person named JC.

I am not the same person and I do have a job. Also, I am not the same person who started the thread below when whoever it was chimed in with the "yes but" and started lecturing me about my negativity, I feel like I'm in grade school all over again. Once an MT, always an MT, even though I'm not currently working as one. Think I'll stick to their discussions, they're friendlier on that board and not nearly as judgmental.
that's really saying something - MTs friendlier
[ In Reply To ..]
saying MTs are friendlier and less judgmental than the coders, that's really saying something, because the MTs can be pretty vicious.

Any Good MT Jobs Out There?
Jan 30, 2015

All I ever seem to read here is how terrible the MT profession has become.  I agree that I am making less now than I was many years ago mostly since the majority of work has switched over to editing VR, which pays less.   I just want to know, though, are there companies worth working for?  ...

Just Another Vent About Jobs, No Jobs, Requirement Of Jobs, Etc.
Aug 18, 2010

It is insulting to all of us with the way that MT pay has gone down the drain, it is frustrating and aggravating to look for a "decent" job these days, trying to work out which companies will treat you fairly, which ones lie about their platforms, work, etc., and not only do these companies not want to pay us what we are worth but now I see that MANY companies are requiring the MT to have or "be willing" to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of equipment.  If an employer can PROMISE IN ...

Where Do I Find The Status Of Jobs And Number Of Jobs?

2014 - Not A Good Year For This MT — But I Found A Good Fit (finally)
Jan 12, 2015

Rarely do I start discussion on mtstars - however, 2014 was a particularly challenging year for myself - an experienced MT/Editor (15+ years). However, I realize that many other MTs may be in the same position, i.e., having many years devoted to working at the Big MTSOs including “the M,” and “the N” and (now to be included) “the T” following close behind in total numbers of MT/Editors on staff. (Hint: Sure most of you know the M, the N and the T - and the names have been int ...

Well Good Friday to me.  I left Spheris.  It is indeed the best Friday for me in a very long time.  I've had it with their lousy platform, Mafia QA (they try their best to kill your spirit), mandatory this, mandatory that, do this, don't do that, change this, don't change that; no, don't change this, don't change that, and on and on and on, and now their bankruptcy.  No PTO for the next 4 months to keep the clients satisfied during ...

Will We All Be Out Of Jobs?
Dec 02, 2009

These eScription, Nuance, EMR, etc. posts are all very sobering.  Does anybody think that we'll all be out of jobs in 5 years, 3 years???  and will we be cut loose quickly or slowly phased out?  given enough notice?? etc.??   I think I'm getting to the point where working in a grocery store is starting to look more and more appealing.  The thing that contradicts all this is that most of the companies constantly beg for extra work, higher production, consis ...

Once And For All - There Are No Jobs!
Dec 20, 2009

On almost every thread somebody mentions their finances are in dire straights.  And on almost every thread somebody whose life is just peachy demands to know why they "let" their finances get shaky and why they didn't just "get another job before things got so bad".  We are not sitting around just wringing our hands, as is so often implied.  Many of us have been applying, constantly, for months; with more entering the job search every day, the competition gets harder and hard ...

EMR And MT Jobs

I recently changed my health care to Kaiser and have observed first hand and for the first time, the use of electronic medical records; they really are of immeasurable assistance to each provider who is treating the patient.  Nevertheless, there are still certain physicians who must dictate, i.e., surgeons, consultants, certain medical specialists.  There will undoubtedly be fewer jobs for MTs but there will still be jobs for those who can transcribe those reports.  It will a ...

I just ran into a local job already, MOWING GRASS.  The lady's lawn mowing man just finished school and is quitting the mowing.  She paid him $1400 last month to mow, run the weedeater, keep weeds out of the flowers, etc. ($25 an hour).  My husband does handyman work and is always being asked to mow or if he knows anyone.  He hates it.  I like it.  I think I just might take this on.  (Probably for less money, though.  She thought that was too much, b ...

MT Jobs !

So, I am about to finish a medical transcription certificate program through a community college. I have started going through these boards and I am starting to get nervous about job possibilities.
