I chose Andrews because I feel it will prepare me the best. I like their format and their style of teaching. I feel it is the best match. Thanks again everyone!!!!
Now you have to rush to clean your house, get groceries, etc. - Get ready to study!

Congratulations on getting started! I've heard it's a really good idea to get your house clean, buy lots of groceries and maybe cook and freeze, and whatever else you can do to prepare, because you will be busy studying. All the best with your studies!

That's very good advice! Definitely, the house needs to be clean. You don't want it clamoring for attention. It will be the first thing making noise when you get a bit bored with a lesson.
If the clean plan fails, though, just remember that once you get used to a little extra mess, you won't even notice it. I still have some lying around from when I went to school, and I finished two years ago. One of the best lessons I learned was that if you pick up mess it stays picked up until you make more mess, at which point you have to pick it up all over again. If you leave the original mess there, it doesn't get much worse. I have saved probably years of cleaning time by just leaving things where they fall. That alone was worth all that tuition.
There are lots of different (and free!) planning calendars at calendars dot com. Flylady has lots of good cleaning-up suggestions, too.

To clean their house, do laundry and grocery shopping and pick things up. Wouldn't it just be easier to put it away in the first place instead of leaving it where you drop it? Eventually you'll have to deal with it anyway. I could never leave stuff where I dropped it for 2 years but that's just me.
I am so excited, although I must admit that I'm just a little nervous about going back to school after 26 years in this field. I know it won't be easy but I am confident I can do it. I can hardly wait to get my books and get to studying! ...
I'm supposed to start work later. No word from the CCM today. You'd think she would send out a reminder note or some hints or something. Nada. Zip. ...
I'm one of those that had a high enough test score to get into MModal's program but didn't quite make it. I had already been looking at one of the Coding schools but wanted to give myself a week or so to think it over and not make a knee jerk move after being passed over by MModal. Today, I picked up the phone and signed on with the school I've had my eye on and I start on Monday! I'm actually reeeeally excited - and surprisingly I'm actually feeli ...
Okay, so after much debate and research, I enrolled in Andrews course for coding yesterday! :) Now I'm just waiting for my materials to arrive, reading over my 1st set of instructions, and trying to navigate my way through loads of information on the student forum. All I can say is WOW. I think this course is going to be wonderful and very challenging. I'm actually a bit overwhelmed at the moment! LOL! But I'm excited!

Am just curious, is anyone currently enrolled in this? Do you feel it's a good deal? I haven't had health insurance in about 10 years and looked into this. For where I live (NV) and my age (46) it's $260/mo with a $3000/$2000 deductable. For $350/mo it's a $1,000/$1500 deductible. For either plan it's 80/20 with an OOP cap of $5950.00, then it's 100% paid. Co-pay for either plan is $25. They have a pretty extensive provider ...
Probity employee swallowed up by Nuance. Got a letter in the mail from Fidelity Investments confirming my enrollment in the Nuance 401K. Only problem, I didn't request nor authorize the enrollment and these jerks gave Fidelity all my personal information including my social security number. Who knows who has my information now? With identity theft rampant, these idiots hand it out to just anybody.

I have been talking about going back to school for years now. Then I did the whole researching of schools and still couldn't make the decision. Well, last week was the worst week of my life. I got fired from my main job, by main I mean the one I carried my benefits through (I always have 2 jobs because of the precarious nature of our the MT industry). My 19-year-old son took my car in the middle of the night while I was asleep without asking and totalled it.

After years of thinking about going back to school and then talking myself out of it because I didn't want to face college again at age 40, I decided I need more job security, better pay and growth potential. So I filled out the financial aid forms, enrolled in a couple of classes for the summer, and here I go. I'm a little nervous actually. Been a loooooonnng while since I sat in a classroom, took notes, and took exams. My retention isn't wh ...
When you get NJA and you wait the 15 minutes, how is that reflected on your pay check. I think I have not been paid for these for a while cause I never look at my pay stub. My fault I know, but I just want to be aware going forward and not sure what the entry for the pay is. ...

start my new job and eventually leave MModal after I dig out of my hole. I wished that when this all started back in October I would have started looking then. Oh well will be 2 jobbing it for awhile.
I read some of the posts on MModal board lately and this company has people crazed with all the fighting and name calling going on. It is depressing. It should not matter if you are pro or con MModal we are all people. Gosh, with this company it could be fe ...
wasn't our quality supposed to be 99.5% ?? now they want it to be 99.65% ??

i'll tell ya what MModal. i'll see if i can meet YOUR expectations as i'm sure you'll be meeting MY expectations of a liveable wage. you get what you pay for. best you be managing those expectations of yours. ...
Okay! I've had enough. I was going to hang in longer but I am now being Aggressive and sending my resume out! I won't be doing MT work anymore -- that's for sure! Perhaps working at the local community college if not for the government. At this point, I don't really care what I do because anything is better than this! WooHoo! It's a AHAA movement for me. It won't be long now. Best of luck to those who chose to stay wit ...
How long do you wait after you apply and test before you email and/or contact the recruiter? The way I see it, I have spent at least a couple of hours on their tests and at the very least deserve an email within a few days either way. Maybe times have changed. Or maybe I should cc the HR dept asking for an update on my application status? ...
I lost my IC MT job in January. The MTSO lost the account I was working on. They are trying to obtain another account and when they do I will be called back to work. In the meantime I have been looking around and this past month I have been applying for part-time IC work. I could use the paycheck! I contacted my previous MTSO and they have nothing yet. I am not finding any work at all. I'm feeling anxious. So, I think I need to be more flexibl ...
I may miss working at home but I am so not going to miss transcription, and if they really want to hand it over to the Indians it won't be my problem anymore. My god some of the reports I've seen, and if they don't care I don't either. ...
I waited for 14 minutes with NJA and then 1 job came up at 14 minutes when I rechecked. I did that job and now I am again waiting now for 6 minutes. Can I count these minutes together to report NJA or do I have to start counting over again each time I get 1 job? Thanks! ...
While watching the news earlier I heard that scientists have made an important discovery. It seems they have discovered a "Stupidity Virus." I know! It explains quite a bit doesn't it? This must have been floating around in the water coolers at corporate for a very long, long, long, long time! Not to mention certain other water coolers (just off the top of my head, say maybe at client sites). Now we know where those people come from and what happene ...
