the silence is deafening at Medscribe - no work
Posted: Jul 19, 2012
Does anyone know what is going on? No work, then work, then no work. Accounts disappearing. No answer as to why there is no work. Something doesn't feel right.

Which MedScribe do you work for? Out of what state?

I work at MedScribe out of Kentucky. So far, there has been plenty of work but I'm just starting there.

Medscribe is out of Jacksonville, FL and Mediscribes is the one out of Kentucky -- However, the company that you are working for is actually based in India. I liked the company but had problems with the software working on a Windows 7 computer and did not like the fact that they would send me an IM to remote in to my computer without calling me first.

The company I work for is MedScribe,Inc. The lady that owns the company is Donna. There must be several different ones with names that are similar.
I agree - No work here either

Something is up, I agree. How could no one know why work volumes are down? Not just on 1 or 2 accounts, but across the board. I have loved this job but am feeling pretty insecure and in the dark right now. Tuesday and Wednesday I was busy all day, had great line counts, then yesterday practically nothing. Hard to make a living that way.

they lost their 2 biggest accounts. the people who wouldn't quit because they would have no job and no unemployment if they quit got reassigned to other accounts. then they cut everybody's pay because they lost their 2 biggest accounts. all the work they have left is overflow. that's what I was told anyway. so good luck, it's hit or miss these days. in my state, you can file unemployment on-line and select "lack of work" as your reason. I suggest you do it now rather than later because so many people are applying, it takes a while to get. you have to cover yourself somehow.
Transition date is MONDAY. I really expected to be bombarded by emails this week from the powers that be with transition details, expectations, reassurance that things are going smoothly, as planned, etc., or at the very least a little rah, rah, sis-boom-bah, go team type stuff. Unless said emails are inadvertantly missing me, there has been nothing but SILENCE from MDI and Transcend other than the occasional brow beating about TAT and time sheet training. Weird ...
And here starts another week of silence. I can go several weeks where I am hounded with emails and then nothing, silence, no backlog, no audits, no pretty little graphs, nothing. I'm not sure which is worse. ...
I checked the accelerate silence playback box in options. Underneath the box is a scale of 5 seconds to 30 seconds (minimum silence length) - what does this mean? What is the best setting to go with the accelerated silence playback - am confused. Thanks. ...
Has anyone heard anything from their boss about yesterday? Normally there are backlog updates and such first thing. I could hear a pin drop this morning. Not due to work today, so haven't checked anything else. ...
Is there supposed to be a red line through the speaker or not if you want to play the silences? They are telling me both ways at my job and personally I can't hear a difference whenever I test it.
Thank you,
Jan ...
I notice so many who talk about doctors dictating with kids screaming in the background, docs talking to other docs, alarms going off, etc.
It got me thinking about when I first started out. I had to have absolute silence. Kids had to be in bed, hubby gone, TV off, etc. My gf said, "NO WAY! Turn on the TV! You have to get used to hearing other things going on so you don't restrict yourself to only being able to transcribe in absolute silence." &n ...
the alphabet soup folks (HDS, PC, etc)? Have not heard a peep from them about anything, and, for awhile, every day we were getting updates and stats, etc.
Just curious. ...
I am hoping some MTs will be willing to share this info. Would anyone who works 40 hours a week with MedScribe in Florida be willing to share what they average salary-wise per year? They seem like a good fit for me. I am considering making a switch and trying to get a ballpark as far as what is doable.

I have been purusing the job openings board and noticed two ads on there from Medscribe, Inc, located in New Albany, Indiana. However, on both ads, there is no contact information. Does anyone know anything about this company? Thanks. ...
Anyone know what is going on with Medscribe? There has been little to no work for weeks now with promises of more work coming in. I know they have lost a few accounts but even the accounts still there seem to be dictating a lot less than what they normally do so I wonder if they are headed on their way out too. Today I heard a rumor they might be sending work to another company to handle overflow and that is why the work has dried up. Has anyone else heard this? I can't be ...
I was told straight up that my account was gone. after the fact of course. don't believe anyone. what a nightmare. plenty of work and really great paychecks then POOF gone. and no warning. I give up on this industry. got to get out and no better time than now. so sick of lying to your face companies. and don't think you're not next because you are. ...
Anyone work for MedScribe? I just applied with them and I am hoping to get some info about the platform, ease of dictators, accounts, schedule, is there enough work, etc?
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks! ...
What's the opinion out there, is this company reliable to work for? I've heard good and bad about getting paid on time. I hear they hire newbies too. ...
Archives are divided -- half happy and treated well and doing the work they expected to do, paid on time, good benefits. Other half got jerked around a bit, given different kinds of work than expected, said line counts are incorrect, missed a couple of paychecks (which is strange since they do direct deposit - maybe they didn't back then.) Thanks. ...
Wondering why MedScribe puts ads up all the time and never replies to their applicants. I know I aced the test, and not a peep... Even sent a few followup emails, still nothing... Anyone else having this problem??? ...
I've been with Mediscribe, New Jersey for quite sometime as an MT. They have always been just nice people to work for. Then the office manager suddenly passed away (God rest her soul) and for a while we didn't have anyone except the same person who's been in QA ever since I've been there, she wonderful, always gives great feedback, and is very supportive on this just horrible account we are on in PA. Then the owner, who is just the nicest man, hired th ...
MedScribe Inc out of New Albany, Indiana - anyone with current info? I see they are hiring for IC's at 7 cpl to start with raise. Raise to what? 8 cpl? Thanks - ...
This company was on my list of companies to apply to because of positive comments posted here.
I just went to their website to start the process, and this is listed under "Employee Benefits:"
Taxes paid -- employer portion
It is right there in the midst of vision, dental, health insurance, etc.!
EXCUSE ME, but they are REQUIRED to pay those taxes so how is that an "employee benefit?!"
The other HUGE RED FLAG for me is that they use the crappiest platform on the planet, ChartNe ...
I thought I had a great job transcribing for a specialty clinic in Chicago, but lost it to speech wreck. MedScribe lied and told us it was a computer upgrade for Chicago, but now I'm left here with no work because it all went to speech wreck. I would have changed over to another account but I was sucked in and believed about the upgrade. Now I have no work. Anybody else?, because I have an attorney and he would like to hear from all of us. This industry is ...
Has anybody given this company 2 weeks' notice and actually been allowed to work it or were you let go immediately? Also, did you get paid for your accrued leave when you quit? Thanks for any info. ...
