MedScribe (Jacksonville) - worried

What is going on at Medscribe-Jacksonville? I keep hearing rumors that scare me. Does anyone have any info? What is happening to our accounts?

I work at Medscribe covering 2nd and 3rd shift, always out of work, haven't heard any rumors though.

a very, very LARGE & high-volume Jacksonville account and then subcontracted their "GO LIVE" transition process (converting/training) Nuance's speech engine all of the Jacksonville data to a smaller bottom-feeder MTSO "TTS LLC" back in January 2012. (Side note; majority of TTS if not all of their work is funneled/subcontracted from Nuance for Nuance's newly-acquired GO LIVE's. Sometimes TTS remains on the account for overflow once Nuance speech engine is fully trained with all facility dictators & data or not & Nuance then assumes service operations & TTS's work is done). Nuance will typically do a weaning process/protocol for newly acquired accounts, so as not to affect production time, quality issues during the service change transition period. This is when work volume starts to gradually decline to eventually no more for the company that sold off the assets (accounts). Service acquisition time-frames are dependent on the volume & facility, but not unheard of to take as long as 6-12 months, especially if it's a large volume multi-facility acquisition. Not sure if this is the case with your company & account? But just might be some info. that could be relevant.

I work day shift and I ran out of work this week too, but that is unusual. Have not had an abundance of work lately but enough to keep busy. I saw on another website that they are advertising for help for a new clinic account, hiring 5 MTs. They were advertising for independent contractors though. Did not know they hired such. I wonder if that will be us soon and not employee status. I keep hoping for the best because I love everything about working there except the low work lately.

until they lost a couple of their largest accounts and cut my pay and from what I have read most people's pay because of it. I was told that the majority of their accounts were overflow. It made me wonder if they all are. I filed for unemployment due to lack of work and got it so I'm done with the whole transcription business. I'm searching right now but I won't transcribe anymore. I've been done with this for years but kept hanging in and trying to find a good company. It's not worth my time anymore.

Anyone know what is going on with Medscribe? There has been little to no work for weeks now with promises of more work coming in. I know they have lost a few accounts but even the accounts still there seem to be dictating a lot less than what they normally do so I wonder if they are headed on their way out too. Archives are divided -- half happy and treated well and doing the work they expected to do, paid on time, good benefits. Other half got jerked around a bit, given different kinds of work than expected, said line counts are incorrect, missed a couple of paychecks (which is strange since they do direct deposit - maybe they didn't back then.) I've been with Mediscribe, New Jersey for quite sometime as an MT. They have always been just nice people to work for. I thought I had a great job transcribing for a specialty clinic in Chicago, but lost it to speech wreck. MedScribe lied and told us it was a computer upgrade for Chicago, but now I'm left here with no work because it all went to speech wreck.
