I was told straight up that my account was gone. after the fact of course. don't believe anyone. what a nightmare. plenty of work and really great paychecks then POOF gone. and no warning. I give up on this industry. got to get out and no better time than now. so sick of lying to your face companies. and don't think you're not next because you are.

I have had my own MTSO for 26 years. Finally specialized in cardiology and had a large cardiology group for the past 16 years. They just sold the practice to Advocate Health...a large corporation buying up everything imaginable in the Chicago area. Day 1 - 8 a.m., I find out (inadvertently) that our services are no longer needed. 1 month ago they said - "we won't change anything, as long as the doctors are happy". The doctors are shocked that they are not using us any longer...they had no idea, supposedly. I was told "it's not the doctors' decision". They even had us fill out W9's and get them in quickly the week before. Talk about being lied to??? If these people keep their jobs by having to lie to everyone, then I hope they enjoy their decent pay - but get ready, because I worked for Advocate twice and I saw administrators terminated quite often. I guess I just had to vent. Thanks for listening.

Ultimately, this trickles down to the MT's having no work, and without a doubt, some will think you lied to them, not caring or believing that you really had no idea.

This is, unfortunately, part of any business. I wish we could see both sides more often; it may make some of the bitterness go away.

Back then they brought in people to manage the demolition of the transcription department. After the job was done, they all were gone, as were we. Hatchet people are sent to the hospitals. They denied it also. Advocate then wanted only 1 service to handle all of their hospitals. One hospital held out. This was in the Chicagoland area, so maybe it took this long for them to finally get what they wanted. Plus, the big Nuance VR is taking over everywhere. Even at Hines VA...a huge government facility...I was told..."the doctors just talk into the phone and it comes out perfectly."

Anyone know what is going on with Medscribe? There has been little to no work for weeks now with promises of more work coming in. I know they have lost a few accounts but even the accounts still there seem to be dictating a lot less than what they normally do so I wonder if they are headed on their way out too. Today I heard a rumor they might be sending work to another company to handle overflow and that is why the work has dried up. Has anyone else heard this? I can't be ...

Archives are divided -- half happy and treated well and doing the work they expected to do, paid on time, good benefits. Other half got jerked around a bit, given different kinds of work than expected, said line counts are incorrect, missed a couple of paychecks (which is strange since they do direct deposit - maybe they didn't back then.) This company was on my list of companies to apply to because of positive comments posted here. I just went to their website to start the process, and this is listed under "Employee Benefits:" Taxes paid -- employer portion It is right there in the midst of vision, dental, health insurance, etc.!
