Ascend Healthcare - New Account, WHAT HAPPENED? - LostInTranslation

Good morning Earthlings and Martians and Jupiternites Smile!!

 

This is for those of you who were hired on at Ascend recently for the big new account that went live a few weeks ago.  WHAT THE FIREBALLS OF HADES HAPPENED?  One day we're working, the next they're letting us go.  Did they LOSE the account THAT QUICKLY?  I went to log on yesterday and was unable to do so.  How is it even humanly possible to lose an account you only had for a week?  Were we hired simply to catch up the backlog and just were never told so or did the hospital actually terminate their contract with Ascend?  The thoughts in my head are a big jumbled mess and I am trying to sort this all out because now I am out of a job and don't know what I am going to do.  To those who were hired by Ascend for this new account, feel free to chime in and give your honest input.  You don't have to go into great detail if you're not comfortable....but I would love to find out what my fellow MTs are thinking regarding Ascend's shady shenanigans.  WTF is going on?

I was hired for a different account and they kept promising a start date with nothing to show for it. They also promised to train us and pay us for the training and in that they also promised different start dates with no sign of really starting. I jumped that ship before even starting the training because I figured if they couldn't be organized enough to start training then they weren't organized enough to pay me. So sorry you had to go through this mess.

Luckily, I haven't had problems with pay SO FAR, because you just never know now that I am no longer with the company. But I was hired a few months ago and we were just beginning the go live for the new account in June. My termination email was vague as well. How is this company still tooting along? It was totally unscrupulous how they just snatched the rug out from under the new hires feet in the manner they did. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Some time ago, Oracle advertised for help, saying they needed 70 MTs for some huge account.  I applied.  I am an MT with tons of experience and good, solid credentials.  Yet I never heard a word from them.  Did anyone else apply and actually hear something back?  What is up with those people?  It seems that their current MTs do not have enough work.  Why on earth would they advertise for 70 more? ...

Beware anyone thinking about working for Ascend!  They are extremely unorganized and chaotic.  I don't know why they make you submit invoices - which are very time consuming to prepare - when they will just pay you something different or not at all.  They shorted my first paycheck by 1/3.  When I was finally able to get in touch with someone, they did send me the adjustment.... but I have not received my last paycheck at all!!!  I have tried to contact them several ...

If you want to be paid for any work you do I would not advise working for this company.  I have not been paid for "phase I" of the transcribing we were supposed to do which was supposed to be paid last week, evidently there are others according to the main board.  This company hired for an account that was supposed to be started but evidently has not, they are feeding the MTs 10 reports at a time so you get a total of 30 reports in each phase as they call it for a stipend of 200, however, they ...
