Are there ANY good companies out there? I only see negative about every single company that is hiring. Seriously, only negative. Never a good word about any of them. Has it really come to this? I work for Nuance so I know they are bad. I've worked for MedQuist, need I say it? Both of these were not my choice but buyouts of fantastic companies. So, let's hear it.... are there any good ones left?

MTSO over-hires enough without giving out their name so that even more apply there.

Good Companies - KSR

Yes. There is at least one. It just rehired me after six months out for illness. It is a really good company with about average work, but they do not fuss at me all the time! They let me do my job. and they pay on time. When you find one you fit well with, just hang on for dear life.

I have a great job with a smaller MTSO who contacted me that way. I do not mention her company because she has maybe 25 MTs or so, and she mentioned once that she doesn't place an ad when she needs someone because she doesn't want to be bombarded with resumes, so she looks through the resumes posted online. I also work for OTI, which some people have trashed here but they have been good to me. As one poster said, "good" is a relative term. What meets my needs may not meet yours or someone elses.

I work for a really, really great company that is routinely bashed on this board. Out of respect for my company and for myself as well, I will not mention its name. I find it sad that we have devolved so such bashing, but so it is.

Thank you for letting me know. I was thinking that there were absolutely no good ones left. I worked for the 2 biggies and they indeed are no good but the smaller ones were fantastic. Hard to imagine that the industry as a whole is down the drain. I remember when MTs used to mentor and help each other out. I suppose they are all too worried about too much competition. Yes, IMO, there are still good companies out there . . . I work for two smaller MTSOs that very rarely advertise . . . both jobs know about the other one and have been working this way now for about two years and (knock on wood) have had no conflicts and consistent work.

Honestly, they pretty much all SUCK. MedQuist is probably close to the worst. The only company I think is decent is Amphion...I think there are pretty much no others left....I am skyrocketing out of this career because it is no career at all...I am 53 and can make more at McDonalds and have no expectations except for counting money. You would think transcriptionists are paid a King's Ransom...total joke..If you are young, please do yourself a favor and move on immediately.

It amazes me that as a company employee, we would not be provided the most important tool we need to work with all set up to company specs, loaded with company s/w.
