Is it true that the bulk of their work is overflow accounts? Is there enough work? What happens if the in-house people complete the work faster, leaving nothing for overflow or WMX MTs to do?

No, the bulk of their work is not overflow. While it does comprise a percentage of their work, it is not the bulk. I don't know the inner workings of the company as far as what happens when in-house completes work faster. : )

Yes! The majority of accounts are overflow - and yes, the MTS DO run out often...

Some people are honestly mistaken in their evaluation, some offering information they believe to be correct that is not, some frankly lying from malice, and many...indulging the mood of the moment through what they would not like to call lies but bear striking resemblances to them nevertheless.

People make very important decisions based on what they read here and can be badly hurt by bad info. When we don't know for sure but can't resist indulging ourselves, we should at very least preface with something like, "it seems" "a lot of people are posting," or even "I believe"--like the cigarette company executives in the tobacco hearings. You know, as in "I believe tobacco is not addictive."

I agree with pragmatist. I can speak only of the accounts that are represented with my STM, but approximately 25% of our accounts are overflow, certainly NOT the vast majority. Yes, work runs out sometimes, but work also runs out on the other accounts. I have a mix of both accounts and work 2nd shift, and I rarely get NSA.

I believe that some accounts are overflow, but not all. Personally, I have been getting NSA eve/night for the past month. Had one acct, now have secondary, and hopefully will be getting a 3rd. My conclusion is that some MTs have work and some don't. Those that do, have no complaints, and those that don't ain't happy.

The large account I work for is overflow and oftentimes we are told to get off the account until the STM gives the all clear because the in-house MTs have priority over us. We are to flex until later in the day and this happens almost daily. They will also remove this account as secondary account if the in-house MTs do not have enough work and that covers acute, clinic and ER.

The unremarkable Wedmedx needs to pay for the downtime MTs are incurring because they want to switch everything over to their horrendous ISR. The unremarkable Webmedx requires 1 to 4 hours to get new computers up and running and yet we production people are supposed to make up that time or use our PTO time or just not get paid. I just want you to know what a phenomenal job I think you all did on those atrocious accounts. I QA'ed your work and was amazed at what you could decipher out of those dictations. Anyone else working for/or have worked for both who has noticed a difference in the quality of the ASR on one as compared to the other. I may be crazy, but I think I make far fewer corrections to the ASR on MQ work. Maybe just lucky, but I tend to be a mouse user (I know - shame on me, but I am getting better) and I find my right hand lets me know when I have been using the mouse more. ...
