Does anyone know if they hire part time? I know I have seen comments about them running out of work, but that seems to be a common thing among most of the companies anymore.

Yes, they do hire part time. They have a current job listing on here that includes some part time slots.

Think disappointment, then maybe you will not be. Be prepared for ALL VR and all difficulty foreign dictators and see if you can even make minimum wages in 12 hours. You have to find out for yourself. No such thing as part-time. Part-time maybe means no work, even on 5 accounts. Plus keep the account specifics in mind. Oh, and don't complain on this board...beware.

I agree with the above, but also you will be editing/transcribing reports that do not pay you at all. No matter how much of the demographics you have to fill in, etc. Don't know how they have the system set, but I have MANY reports that show 0 (zero) lines paid. I am so disappointed in what TransTech has become, after many years of working for them . . . so I do have experience with them . . . The situation of low and no work has become more and more common and also system down a lot. There are VERY FEW straight transcribing reports, but VR has taken over and the doctors disappear from the VR editing quickly, as we train the speech machine to interpret their voices. Why are we SO GOOD at this??? The docs just disappear quicker, creating a NO WORK situation for EVERYONE!

The same situation seems to occur with ALL companies now . . . monies go to the top echelon !

Yes they hire part-time, I believe the minimum is 20 hours per week.

Hi there fellow TT MTs:) Do any of you ever have trouble with QA at TT. Lately, I have been afraid to send anything in for correction, particularly 1 person, who dissects my reports down to crossing my Ts and dotting my Is. I know she is probably just doing her job well, and I know being in QA is a hard job, but this is getting depressing. I am not a newbie by any means, and I know my job well. I started a new thread because I noticed your question about TransTech waaaay down at the bottom of the page and with no responses yet, so here goes... In my personal experience, nothing has changed from the older posts. Even today, I have 4 accounts and I'm currently waiting for work to come into my queue. For some reason, the EditScript would not come up. So I got rid of satellite and had Verizon Wireless installed. So far this is working pretty good. Much better than satellite -- knock on wood. some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

I am surprised to see the job ad for TransTech on the Job Board here...I thought they didn't have enough work. There are two ads actually, one for acute care, the other for oncology.
