All right how about TransTech - Old School
Posted: Jul 10, 2013
I have got to find something new and unfortunately have to go with a company who hires employees/has benefits.
TransTech - TT - from Nuance

I encourage you to test and apply. Steady work, good bonus, a bit above average VR rate (except one account.) All US workforce. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT BENEFITS - Do NOT listen to posts written by MTs who know NOTHING about the legalities behind using escription platform, which is 1 of TT's platforms - or any rumors of a Nuance buyout - TT prides itself in ALL USA MLS!!! Give it a try. Challenging test - but still -give it a try!!
yep, go with TransTech....sm - another former Nuancer

I've worked at Nuance and before that, Amphion and other companies. TransTech has plenty of work overall and above-average cents per line...I don't know the benefits yet (pretty new), but they look and sound good. They generally leave you alone and let you work to your heart's content, is my impression. EditScript and Fluency (MModal), both of which I love and are easy to pick up.
Are they hiring just for Oncology right now? - nooncologyexperience

I sent them my resume with the time I'd like to work, and then they wrote back and said they would love to have me test for them and to choose oncology when I set up to take the test. I have no oncology experience at all! Afraid I won't pass, even though I have 8 years of experience in transcription.

try it, what do you have to lose, just look up those chemo medications for spellings.
truth about their onc accounts - mostly acute care

I was excited to be hired to do oncology with TT.
I am disappointed that the 2 major Oncology accounts I do are more acute care stuff than actual down and dirty oncology reports.
I say go for it as there are minimal acutal oncology reports.
MT is history. But until we ride into the sunset, if you can get - a job with Escription, you are still winning. Sm

It is the best platform around. You will make more money with that platform, irregardless of other variables.
I used to work for TT and there are a lot worse places to be working until the end of MT.
the TT MTs are training a new platform - no more Escription
It's BM-Modal's platform that used to be DocQScribe and is now called Fluency and full of glitches.
They fixed what ain't broke and now they are in the weeds with a backlog up the wazoo.
Old School--please post back. TT has management on this board. - Need Truth

TT always has openings in Oncology. They are okay, but way off from 'excellent.' Their supervisors check this board all the time. Type till you drop...oh and if you have work and all by ESLs. 1500 lines per day...oh and if you don't get it...no excellent benefits, because you are not then full time. Good luck.
Whatever you do, do NOT go with TransTech - sm

They offer great pay, good accounts, BUT when you get to making good money (I heard it is not that good anymore), they tell you to slow down. Nope. Awful company IMO.
Good accounts and good money? Not in my case. - anon

Good accounts were lost, but there was huge cherry picking. Lots of people were just 'clean ups.' Then with SR, the line counts went up and all the American-speaking English was GONE. All ESLs and horrible..that or no work.

Line count is way too high again. If you were there for 20 years and on one account, of course you have a good paycheck after you work all day. If you clean up 5 different accounts with all different account specifics...good luck. No cost of living increase here, so if you have to work for a living....go back to school.
there's no 'cost of living' increase anywhere. - maybe working in-house but doubt it. NM

since...Bush the original. Possibly even Regan? Nixon?
I would further expound on that with this bit of advice - BEWARE

I left there a couple of years ago after being on the hem/onc accounts because of chasing work 16-18 hours a day and having no work on either of my accounts.
That being said, there was one account I had as a back-up backup that was truly the stuff an MTs nightmares are made of. Dictators who never put in proper demographics, exactly-named physicians but in slightly different specialities with (true stuff here!) exactly-named PAs. Of course, these clinicians usually couldn't be bothered to enter their own demos correctly, so the MT was responsible for figuring out which ESL-exactly-named-dictator they were listening to and assign the correct demographics. Most of the time the dictators wouldn't even try to enter correct patient demographics and instead just went the "9999999" route. I worked on this account only minimally and, to be perfectly honest, I would rather waste PTO if I didn't have work on my other accounts than work on this one, which, IMO, was a HIPAA catastrophe waiting to happen.
I don't know for sure if they still even have this account but, when I was there, I think it was the standard "backup backup" go-to for the hem/onc crew. I won't name it here but it was in the Southwest and one of the groups began with an "S".
Beware. Seriously. I don't know how any MT managed on that account.
Anyone working at Transtech care to share whether there radiology accounts pay better than there acute care? I currently work for them on acute care. Thanks! ...
Hi there fellow TT MTs:) Do any of you ever have trouble with QA at TT. Lately, I have been afraid to send anything in for correction, particularly 1 person, who dissects my reports down to crossing my Ts and dotting my Is. I know she is probably just doing her job well, and I know being in QA is a hard job, but this is getting depressing. I am not a newbie by any means, and I know my job well. Not criticizing here, just a little perplexed I guess. Thanks everyone! ...
Just wondering if you can do exclusively VR or exclusively traditional? I thought it was mandatory that both be done, but I want to be sure.
Do you like the ExText platform? ...
I started a new thread because I noticed your question about TransTech waaaay down at the bottom of the page and with no responses yet, so here goes...
In my personal experience, nothing has changed from the older posts. Even today, I have 4 accounts and I'm currently waiting for work to come into my queue. If you can get in with TransTech as a favorite, you can make BIG money doing 98% OP notes (about 30,000 lines per pay period). But, if you're just a regular, ...
Usually there are lots of posts here about TT. Just wondering what is going on now. I was hired and supposed to start work there, but could not work with satellite. For some reason, the EditScript would not come up. So I got rid of satellite and had Verizon Wireless installed. So far this is working pretty good. Much better than satellite -- knock on wood. Hopefully I can start working again. ...
I've been with TT for about 6 years but was recently offered an in house job at 4x the pay and really great benefits. I have to say I really enjoyed working for TT other than the times of low volume and I would recommend them. Things have changed for me and I can't turn down this opportunity but I do wish them well. ...
Does anyone know if they hire part time? I know I have seen comments about them running out of work, but that seems to be a common thing among most of the companies anymore. ...
I was recently hired by Transtech, just wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I was very excited to get a job offer, but was a little nervous when the recruiter started explaining what to do when work was slow or there was no work. AT 4.5 cpl for VR, the last thing I need is long periods of no work. Anyone with experience with them? ...
I am no longer working for TransTech but just wondering if there have been any changes since merger yet? Any anticipated? I maybe should not have quit so soon....any suggestions? ...
some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...
Just out of curiosity, are any of you who have been switched to much more VR than traditional (at the halved pay rate) actually making as much or more than you did before? ...
I am surprised to see the job ad for TransTech on the Job Board here...I thought they didn't have enough work. There are two ads actually, one for acute care, the other for oncology. Does anyone out there work on the oncology account and is there enough work. What is their cpl rate for someone who has 12 years experience in oncology. Also, what platform do they use? Thanks for your help. ...
I see the below post about Transtech regarding low work volume. Are there any happy mts working at Transtech doing VR? At one point, I was reading positive information about this company and now all I see is that it has gone downhill fast, ie, Keystrokes same situation. I do not have a job right now and I really need to work. I guess what I am asking is should I give Transtech a try or keep looking. Any and all current info regarding the current st ...
