Transportal good company to work for? - DT

Does anyone know if this is a good company to work for?

I have been working for them for almost 2 years now, and I have not any any major problems. I have always had work. I always get paid on time, and everyone has always been very helpful. I have never worked for another MTSO so I guess I don't have anything to compare them to, but I am happy there so will not be going anywhere else in the near future anyway! Good luck to you.

Thanks for your response. That is very reassuring. I sent my resume but got an automated e-mail that they got a ton of resumes so hopefully I'll hear something back from them.

I enjoy the job at Transportal. Decent pay and always on time. Rarely run out of work. From what I read on this site about companies like MedQuist, Nuance, Webmedx, Keystrokes, etc., I am very happy and content with my position.

I just quit Keystrokes recently. You are so right about them. What a nightmare that company was. Thanks for the good feedback.

I don't see them any different than MedQuist, Nuance, Webmedx, Keystrokes, etc - they are just smaller, sm

No employee appreciation. They have nothing to offer that would make them any different than the MTSOs that you have mentioned. Their treatment of employees isn't any better. I wouldn't be giving them the Employer of the year award. They also overhire and getting work to actually pay your bills is quite difficult. If you're married and have another income, then this would be the company for you. Otherwise, your likely to be struggling trying to pay your bills with the amount of work that they have, not to mention the pay they offer. I'm not sure what would make then any different than any other MTSO.

Their pay is low 7 cents employee 8 cents IC, with self-employment - nmrn

tax at 15% you better take that into consideration. No benefits with this company either way you go. No time off, no insurance, no holiday PTO. They also overhire, so if you're looking to make more than the minimum line count, you won't be doing that with this company on a consistent basis.

I have been on two Transportal teams and have always had as much work as I can handle with the exception of some holidays and summer slow periods. I am an IC and regularly take them up on doing extra work as it seems to be available most of the time. Your experience is quite different than mine and perhaps it has to do with the accounts you were assigned to. Although I don't qualify, they did just announce a limited medical plan of some sort.

true, but at a costly rate, Humana offers rates lower than some of - the companies, sm

out there. I guess you got lucky, or perhaps the work you can handle is the minimum line requirement. My comment was on whether the person was looking to make anything over the minimum requirement of 1200 lines a day. They may be sitting around waiting on work. At 7 cents a line that's only $84 a day, that's $10.5 dollars an hour, at 8 cents a line, that's $96 a day and for 8 hours it is $12 an hour. That's all I'm saying. Someone looking to make more might have a hard time with so many transcriptionists on the account looking to make some money (of course if they are all just doing the minimum, then I guess it really doesn't matter, they will probably have all the work they can handle).

I am fortunate in that I can do a good bit more than 1200 lines with physician normals that I use for my primary account. Otherwise, you are right about income if you can't hit at least the minimum. Not that I am making a fortune transcribing, but I am happy to be employed and able to work a flexible schedule with no travel costs.
I agree with the flexible schedule, but sure doesn't help to pay, sm - NJAMT

the mortgage at those rates. Too bad it has come down to being just happy to be employed. One company is pretty much like the next these days. No employee appreciation (evidenced by the cutbacks in pay) and I find it hard to believe that ICs are now making such a small amount per line with this company, almost not worth it to have to pay the 15% self-employment tax talked about above.

KS seems to be getting lower and lower in the popularity with emplooyees test. I worked for them once but left for the reasons everyone is talking about.  There was no communication. The owner was never truthful and everyone is afraid of her because of her horrible temper tantrums. The accounts are overstaffed - you might get put on another account but it will be overstaffed too. The only accounts that are not overstaffed are the terrible ones that no one wants to work on and it is imp ...

Good Company With Benefits For New MT

I am currently working at a hospital as a Lab Assistant in Pathology. My job has many different responsibilities, but majority is transcription – which I love! I am trying to decide if I want to try becoming an at home medical transcriptionist. This is a huge decision/risk for me as I have been in my current position since 1999. I used to love my job, but as the years have passed, I have found myself disgusted to go to work. This is due to changes in personnel and too many people not ...

TransTech- Good Company

I've been with TransTech for about 2 years, but I'm going to back to working with people now that I'm not having to deal with military moves anymore.
