Can anyone tell me how Keystrokes pays and if they are a good company to work for?

Start at 8 cpl, lots of Meditech accounts, which is a horrible platform. Some love it, many have left.

Keystrokes has over 600 employees, not everyone loves it, but many have not left. I have been there 4 years and most of the people I work with have been there longer or close to when I started. I went through Team Lead training last year and became a lead last fall.

An ex-co-worker of mine just started with Keystrokes 3 months ago and started at 9 cpl, so not all start at 8 cpl.

Yes, there are SOME MediTech accounts, but they are less than 5% of the total accounts. The account I am on uses ExText. I have access to another that is ChartNet. They have purchased their own platform and many have moved or are moving to that. They have a lot of DQS and Scribe accounts.

Radiology is still the biggest part of their business, and I know they just started a few new radiology accounts.

I get paid on time, I get OT when I am asked to work OT, I am paid well and have a lot of work. My bills are paid, and I have benefits including health, dental, vision and life insurance.

I have had a great experience and plan to retire here unless they change drastically, but I think that they are one of the few good companies left in this world of transcription.

provides opportunities for advancement and promotes from within. I'm currently at MQ and it's very hard to move up into any supervisory/lead positions. As a matter of fact, they just demoted all of their team leads they had promoted a few months earlier.

Lots have left KS because like me it wasn't what I had heard it to be. There are a LOT of Meditech accounts, might be a small percentage, but like me, a lot left because of the Meditech accounts. They send out a letter stating EVERYONE starts at 8 cpl. A couple of years ago I was offered 9.5 and turned them down because I decided I was better off where I was and was making more money. When my company went out of business I tried KS and they offered me 8 cpl.

I was NEVER paid OT. I had the worst TL, but I think KS realized she wasn't good and she is no longer a TL.

There are MTs who love it there and will adamantly deny anything negative posted about them.

There are worse companies, but there are better. If you get offered a Meditech account I would turn it down.

I was very disappointed in my KS experience. They promised the moon and didn't deliver. I was promised oodles of work and the account I was put on was just an overflow account from a hospital that had it's own MT staff. When I ran out of work, I was told to check back after the hospital employees left and maybe there would be work then. I would check back and nothing available. When I asked for a backup account it fell on deaf ears until the day I said I was leaving - then a backup account suddenly became available. My Lead was a total joke - she was hard to get ahold of and didn't seem to take her job seriously at all. I stuck it out for about 2 weeks, and finally I had enough of jumping through hoops trying to get work. So I went back to my old job, which was the lesser of 2 evils. Guess that's all we can do nowadays in this MT business that's steadily going down the crapper.

This job has cost me a fortune. Oversights, misinformation or lack of information from every level. There is either too much work or not enough. Overflow from the hospital means that overflow has been picked through and what is left is literally the sewage. The stress of trying to reach the line count needed to get insurance is unbelievably distracting and I feel like I've age 100 years since the day I arrived. Big disappointment...

I work on a Meditech account and it is fine. - Comparatively speaking KS is a good company

I do not have a problem with the program itself. I have worked on Meditech accouns and made great wages in my past position as well at Spheris. It's as fast as I am.

KS seems to be getting lower and lower in the popularity with emplooyees test. I worked for them once but left for the reasons everyone is talking about. There was no communication. The owner was never truthful and everyone is afraid of her because of her horrible temper tantrums. The accounts are overstaffed - you might get put on another account but it will be overstaffed too. I've actually worked for them in the past, horrible experience with my team lead - who sucked, and my account, which was an overflow account - which they didn't tell me when they hired me. So needless to say, I sat most of the time without work. So I didn't last long there, as we obviously need work to make money. I got a phone call from them and they emailed me a list of available shifts, what equipment I'd need, platform, but I forgot to ask how much per line I'd be paid. The person I talked to was very nice. I just want part-time which she said would be 20 hours a week. I am unhappy and have been for quite awhile with the company I am with. I am wondering if anyone has found any company they truly think are worth the effort of working for.
