TransformMT - some good and some bad - Curious
Posted: Dec 31, 2013
Saw previous posts in the archives about this company, some good and some bad. I'm curious if someone can tell me a bit more about this company; for instance, the line requirements, the type of benefits (such as PTO, holiday pay), and the hours typically worked. Thanks in advance for any info/insight. :)
I worked for them a while back... - anon

I can't answer your specific questions since I didn't work for them very long. I will tell you the pay was equivalent to every other company, QA is extremely nit-picky and the employees are very, very "clique-y". If you're not part of the clique (most new comers usually aren't) then your work will be nit picked to death and you'll get the crap accounts. I worked for them concurrently with another company and stayed with the other company and have been with them ever since.
I honestly didn't care for Transform at all although I know others may feel differently.

I worked for them for a few years and loved it until I didn't anymore. They had gone with a policy of everybody grab every report and I just couldn't work like that, I had a knot in my stomach constantly. So once the good work was gone all that was left was a ESL account that was just ridiculous to try and do. Their pay was, as was said, on par with every other company. I didn't have any issues with QA or cliques. I enjoyed the people I worked with. Pay was always on time. Reasonable production levels. Good support for learning their way of doing things.
I appreciate all the feedback! - Curious

I was there from approximately 2006 until 2008. It was the first transcription company (after working for a few) that I really liked.
I experienced the same "job grabbing" going on, and they did fix it so that the jobs had to be done in the order they appear in the queue. Now, that was a while back, so it might have changed back since then (referring to the other poster who mentioned her experience with the job grabbers.
As I recall, line requirements were 10,000 for full-time MTs. If you achieved those 10,000 lines, then the company would pay for half of your health insurance benefits.
We did receive PTO; I don't recall whether we received holiday pay or not.
When I worked there, the hours were extremely flexible.
Unfortunately, I became very ill and was forced to quit because I was spending so much time in the hospital. The owner of the company was very understanding and bent over backwards to allow me to work pretty much whenever I wanted, since my illness prevented me from working regular hours, and there were times when I earned less than $100.00 every two weeks, yet they weren't on my back about it. When I finally had to quit, the owner of the company said she had a feeling that I might quit.
From my own personal experience, I would highly recommend them! In fact, I wish I was still working there now, but my disease prevents that possibility; however, if the other poster's experience is more current than mine, then you should probably place more weight on his/her opinion.
That company - is long gone

They are or have become Command Health. The "personal" touch is gone. There's no one bending over backward for anyone.
Most all accounts are VR with a very convoluted way at arriving at your pay rate. Rates have gone down.
Two years ago things started changing and a year ago it was getting outrageous. I only stay because I'm too lazy to go anywhere else.

Yes, they are now Command Health and have an advertisement on another MT web site.
I know it's been a while since I've been there - sm

as I mentioned in my post.
I'm really sorry that things have gotten so bad there. It used to be a good company (IMHO), and I, of course, have to defer to your more recent experience with them.
So sad.

TransformMT/Command Health Jan 07, 2013I have read some of the comments on this company, but they are about 9 months old, so I am looking for more current information.
I am so tired of having to jump from company to company because so many of them lie in their company information.

Command Health (formerly TransformMT) Testing Sep 20, 2013Anyone else take their test and were surprised that you didn't pass? I took it yesterday. 2014 - Not A Good Year For This MT â But I Found A Good Fit (finally) Jan 12, 2015Rarely do I start discussion on mtstars - however, 2014 was a particularly challenging year for myself - an experienced MT/Editor (15+ years). However, I realize that many other MTs may be in the same position, i.e., having many years devoted to working at the Big MTSOs including âthe M,â and âthe Nâ and (now to be included) âthe Tâ following close behind in total numbers of MT/Editors on staff. Good Friday; Good Bye Spheris Apr 02, 2010Well Good Friday to me. I left Spheris. It is indeed the best Friday for me in a very long time. I've had it with their lousy platform, Mafia QA (they try their best to kill your spirit), mandatory this, mandatory that, do this, don't do that, change this, don't change that; no, don't change this, don't change that, and on and on and on, and now their bankruptcy. No PTO for the next 4 months to keep the clients satisfied during ...
Good Bye MT Nov 02, 2009I so look forward to these last 5 years going by fast: Going back to college to get a degree and walking away from MT never looking back. If it wasnt for paying for my schooling, I'd be out of this by now. If things get too bad I'd consider cutting lunch meat, stocking shelves at the neighborhood grocery store, whatever. The only up side to my 10+ years of doing MT work has been able to stay home for my kids and making pocket change.&nb ...

Who Is MQ ASR Good For? Jul 01, 2010Makes no difference that I know of to the dictator. Doesn't save him or her any money. Probably a negative for the patient, as I sincerely believe there is a bigger chance of their medical record being less than accurate. Sure is not a plus for us MT/ME's, except those extremely few who seem to have the right account, I would venture a guess of about 5% of us.
The only positive I see is to the client. They are getting lied to, that if they go with ASR, it is such a g ...

Trying To Be A Good MME Jun 11, 2011I have been an MT for 8 years before moving up to the MME position recently. I told myself that I would never nitpick as I experienced in the past. I still hold true to that. We are to only fill in the blanks unless we note an obvious error, then its full QA, except we get paid the fill-in-the-blank line rate rather than 100% QA line rate (3 cpl rather than 4). However, if we fill in the blank and NOT catch an error that is caught on the MTs audit, we get clobbered ( ...

I'm Getting Out Of The MT Biz For Good! Jan 20, 2012After struggling financially and being increasingly unhappy with my job for three years (yes, only three years) I am officially DONE with MT work.
