Tested for Accentus - anon

Posted: May 09, 2012

Hey guys, I just got done testing with Accentus and I've been searching the archives on here for some info that I am not able to find.  Do they provide you a computer or do you use your own?  Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Not sure except for acute, but you have to supply your own computer, they provide foot pedal and do reimburse some of your internet cost.

Thank you - anon

accentus---overall positive experience - anon

Like anywhere I think, there are positives and negatives, and actually I have a friend who quit not long ago and was pretty unhappy, so experiences vary. I have worked for both M*Modal and Nuance, and in comparison Accentus is much better, IMO. I can make pretty good money, the incentive plan is based on both QA percent, hold percent, and LPH. The lower levels are not hard to achieve, and that helps. The VBC makes no difference in pay as some seem to think, because it is based on a 55 character line, as compared to places that pay for spaces but 65 character line.

Some pitfalls when you start are that you only get 1 account, and if you run out of work it can take some effort to get another account. You need to meet their minimums and be off hold to get a secondary. I have not run out of work, but know some do. On the positive though, they give you unpaid time off to use in these situations if you want so you don't use up all of your PTO. The "star team" pay is the best I have seen and I may be applying soon. If you have other specific questions, feel free to ask, I try to give a balanced picture, but again I am overall happy here!
What is the star team.. - and the pay? nm

star team - anon

The star team is a team that is trained on and works all accounts. You have to apply and be qualified and meeting certain minimums to be hired (you can't start your employment with Accentus on star team).

There are some different platforms to learn as well (it is not all Apex) which makes it take a bit longer to get a good LPH, BUT the pay is a bit over 11 straight typing and a bit over 7 for SR.
how are the accounts - anon

Would you say they are fairly easy, medium, or hard? Or basically are they your every day run-of-the-mill acute care accounts?
How long does it usually take to hear from them after testing? - Tessa

but if they don't pay for spaces, I probably wouldn't want to work there anyway. My thumb is a finger that is attached to my hand, and it physically moves to push that space bar countless times in a day - I have the de Quervain tenosynovitis to prove it - so why wouldn't I be paid for that??? That to me is like cheating us and these companies should not be allowed to get away with that. IMO

Anyone Tested With MXSecure?
Nov 14, 2010

I recently saw a job ad for this company and am considering testing for a job.  The job ad does not specifically state their equipment requirements.  I went to their company web site to try to find out, but I can't find any place where they list whether you need a footpedal to take the test.  I feel like a bonehead because I'm sure I must be missing it somewhere.  I did find where they list some hardware and internet requirements and it just says you need speakers a ...

Tested And Got An Eye Opener
Dec 04, 2012

I tested last week and got such bad dictation I could not believe it. I tried to transcribe it as if I was getting paid the usual 8 CPL and realized it would take more time to complete it and I would be making zero money. Sloppy H&P with a heavy accent, whispering AND loud background noise; a coronary catheterization dictation that I commend an MT on even completing that I was supposed to edit. I sent the test back anyway and got an email saying I didn't pass the minimum, whatever tha ...

Applied And Tested For M*Modal
Mar 06, 2012

My question is this?  What is everyone's issue really?  I see a lot of complaining but I have found that in this industry if you do your work and stick to your schedule you make plenty of money.  In addition, I see complaints regarding not getting answers to questions, etc.  Can you not get information from account specs and research?  Again, this is an industry where you have to do some leg work to get the job done 90% of the time (most companies do not have team l ...

Have Tested And Been Offered A Position With M*Modal.
Sep 29, 2012

All of the negative posts on here and the company board are making me think I'm going to decline the offer.  Sad thing is, I have already caught them in a contradiction, which confirms what many of you have said one can expect from this company.  I sure wish I could find a company that appreciates what we do for them and shows it by not misrepresenting what they have to offer and by paying a decent wage so as to encourage its people to stay put.  I'm tired of a ...
