Selling my business to viva transcription - fastfingers

Posted: Jun 18, 2010

I was approached by VIVA transcriptionabout selling my business by handing over my list of clients. Has anyone worked with them before?

No personal knowledge - Did you see these Press Releases

[ In Reply To ..]

I have no personal knowledge, and I do not know if this is the same company, but did you see these Press releases?

They evidently have offices in the United States, Argentina and the Philippines.

My personal opinion only – it sounds like they are trying to become the next MedQuist or Transcend – gobble up as many small companies as they can.

If you are getting out of the Medical Transcription field entirely, it probably will not matter how your clients feel about going from a hands-on small company (you) to a worldwide just-another-number company.   You might want to ask your MT workers (I assume you have more than a couple) how they would feel about working for this type of company.   The people from MDI-MD were certainly very vocal when Transcend bought them out.

Good luck

Please let us know how things work out.   You can Email me if you would like.  I am very interested.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.   (November 2, 2009) VIVA Transcription, a leading provider in medical transcription services, announced that Texas-based Nexus Health Systems, Inc.   has retained VIVA for all of its transcription needs.    Nexus Health Systems, Inc.   has four facilities which include:

  1. Nexus Specialty Hospital-The Woodlands, TX, a 75-bed adult medical specialty hospital;

With 300 practitioners and four facilities throughout Texas and California, Nexus Health Systems, Inc.   needed a provider that could provide consistent and seamless service while transcribing their dictations in a prompt manner.    Nexus Health Systems, Inc.   now becomes one of 159 new clients VIVA has added to its growing portfolio in 2009.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nexus Health Systems, Inc.   to our family of clients,” stated Manuel Prado, President of VIVA Transcription.   “The addition of this prestigious new client to our portfolio demonstrates our long-standing tradition of providing the highest levels of service to our clients throughout the United States and Canada.”

Apparently Viva will not deal with any business brokers. They have been burned in the past I guess.

They offered to even purchase a few accounts to see if it works. I am reviewing paperwork today. I would like to get out of the business and if someone wants to pay me for my business then all the better.

Selling To Viva Transcription
Apr 23, 2012

I see people have posted about selling to Viva Transcription and I tried to post there but I couldn't see exactly how. Maybe this will work. I sold to them a year ago and had some serious reservations at first. They didn't really do anything wrong or against the contract but I had a tough time sleeping regardless. I spoke with some of the mt's after the deal closed who said the new manager was a complete robot and never listened to their personal concerns. This is significant s ...

Viva Transcription Relocating My Accounts
Oct 23, 2012

I have been typing for viva for a year now and just received word from them that they were relocating my accounts to a back end voice rec system due to industry pressures for faster turnaround time and lower pricing for clients.  Apparently my accounts, which aren't particularly difficult (no accents etc) were chosen for transfer while many others were not. I'm pretty upset as I was doing my best with TAT (always made at least 48hr).  I will say that they were nice about giv ...

Medical Transcription Vs Selling Insurance?
Feb 18, 2014

In my eagerness to get out of MT (and home based work in general), I've sent my resume to 4 different staffing agencies. I have an interview at a local Aflac office tomorrow, they seemed impressed by my medical knowledge and clerical skills. The interview occurs during my normal MT schedule, so I lied to my TSM, telling her I had a dental appointment. The thing is, I've got other offers from other insurance companies. I have NO sales experience, and there is NOTHING on my resume to ind ...
