Need to know if the situation has improved at MTS? Would appreciate any elaboration by MTs who are there and making this company work for them.
Thank you - MT is Me

Let me know too. I put in an application but am not too sure as only when you get all the bugs worked out and are ready to go...you get burned. They all lie and you suffer the consequences. Even had a boss in-house that was bipolar/pathological liar and I am sure that is why the hired her! Told us to trust her and that our jobs were secure. Next week...we are all gone. Trust a company now? Only contact is over the internet and phone? Murders/pedophils have a phone and the internet also!

I tried to apply for this job. I went onto their site and sent my resume and whatever....the mail got bumped back to me. This seems to happen with some companies. I actually replied by email on this site and have not heard anything. Do they even receive this stuff. I have a million years experience (it seems) and do not have the greatest luck on this site. Am I just applying too late down the line with a lot of people before me?? I have companies like MedQuist interested in me, which from reading everything on here, is not that comforting!

I don't know if this company is still in business. I paid for and took their transcription course with the promise of a job when I finished. When I finished my course and asked what's next, I got an email saying.....sorry, no job! I applied with them anyway and haven't heard back.
Not sure but I know they - sm

lost a big account & let most of their employees go. I'm not sure if they have built up many new clients since. I've had positive & negative experiences with them. Best of luck,
Need to know any info ASAP on I think its called Global Info Systems or something like that out of Texas. Lots of clinic work, but low low line rate offered. Need to know about management, stability, VR reality, workload, response from tech support, etc. Also, are these clinics in India? Thanks for any help! ...
Just wanted to know has anyone worked for this company. I have been "hired", but have not sent my paperwork to them as of yet. I am unsure about this company. Would love to hear from anyone who has worked for them, and give their input. Also, if anyone else knows of a good transcription company to work for, it would be appreciated. ...
I watched the HIPAA state law video last night and I have to admit, it ticked me off. I have never in all my years in the business, ever met one MT who would even consider doing any of those things. The guy in a bar, I mean really?! Not too mention the QMZ seeking to buy movie star info (now that was a pretty lame cover for that company, and I don't think they buy information), In any case, the scenario was stupid. I came to this board to vent but SusieQA beat me to it. I ...
Anyone in their 60's (I'm 66) who is studying to become a coder? If I begin with Andrews, I will be probably 68 when I'm ready to apply for a job. Is this realistic, or should I save my money? Thanks. ...
Okay. I've been out of MT school for 40 years (seriously). That was when it was Secretarial School. Now the new testing on some sites SUCKS.. Instead of just having us transcribe in the objective - they have those idiot grammar questions. Well after all these years I find some of the things on that stupid. I have passed two and failed two. How can I have different results for different companies. Run on sentence, fragmented sentence - really - we type and edit (if allowed) as they d ...
I don't know any young people who are even slightly interested in MTing. Don't you think the companies have very little to choose from except old people to do MT anymore? ...
that it's harder to pull these lines?
Don't get me wrong, my speed has also been impacted by some of the changes that we've seen in the industry over the last few years, but I just don't have the energy, so to speak, that I had when I was younger to crank out lines in a high-producer range. It's so tiring to try to maintain a steady frenzied pace for eight hours. I'm not a machine. Just don't know what to do. I need the money, but I just can& ...
Okay, I have a question for those of you 55+ that have or are considering leaving the MT world. I have been considering it myself but I'm afraid at this age to go back to school for anything else. Already did that for MT and well everyone knows how that is going these days for most, so very scared to jump on that again along with the cost versus expectations of working, getting hired, and length of employment, etc. (Not to mention at this point my memory is terrible as wel ...
tremendous lag in upload and download. Not sure what to do. I am having Comcast out here and call MQ but so far no luck finding out what caused this. ...
More and more I find it difficult to not shed tears during a report of a baby being sick or of a spouse who is struggling and depressed after losing their loved one. Especially hard when the dictator has to pause to gain composure before continuing. ...
got new computer and uploaded express scribe but the new version seems to take FOREVER to load up my dss files. I miss my old version!!! Anyone know where I can find an older version to download?
Thanks!!! ...
Does anyone know of an older RA medication that s/l kolt? The only reason it was stopped is b/c there were newer medications available and I can't find anything, given that she sould be saying just about anything that starts with a "k" sound and has one syllable. Thanks! ...
I have an XP computer that I no longer use. I have a Vista I am currently using. The XP had gotten slow, was freezing up constantly, etc. On Vista, you can wipe the hard drive clean back to its condition when it was new, but I believe you have to have the CD to do this on XP. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can start over with the XP if I don't have a CD to do it? I would like to get the computer hooked back up and have 2 computers. ...
I've read posts that suggest downloading older versions if the newest version causes trouble with files (which it is). Yesterday I tested with a really great company that I hope to work for. There were 4 test files on MTTest that I used Express Scribe 5.57 (newest version, free 14-day trial). One test made it through, but the other 3 did not. I did keep getting kicked out of the company's website after test dictation. Then I'd come back in and go thro ...
Mine got deleted after I had to get a complete reinstall. It's not on either of my flash drives, it's gone.
Does anyone have a copy of an older version with less complicated features and crap that I can get a copy from you, please?
This program is no longer truly free. You download the "free" version and in 14 days you are locked out of it unless you pay. You can't use "all the features" which simply means the foot pedal option does not work anymore.
This company d ...
FYI: The one-stop for Texas contact, David Smith, is very prompt in responding. He does indicate that Medquist has been requested to supply a list of names if and when any are laid off. While not specifically addressed, he gives the impression that we must be laid off before we can apply. ...
If you live in Texas (or maybe Louisiana) and own your own RV, consider being a gate guard at a natural gas field. The pay is about $15 an hour and that's 24 hours a day. And while you're sitting in that RV, guess what you can be doing. ...
I'm looking for some recent info on Transtech out of Texas. I've checked the archives and read a lot of mixed reviews. Is there anyone currently working for them or who has worked for them in the recent past who can give me some honest feedback on how they are to work for? Is running out of work a major issue there? Are you able to make a good living working for them? Do they for the most part leave you alone to do your work and treat their MTs well? I don't want to ...
There's a post buried below regarding overtime and a case lost by Keystrokes in Texas. A KS poster (probably the owner) states "It is a lie". It's not a lie. Here's the publicly accessible truth.
The link for the original charges is listed below this post. The Final Judgment 6/19/09 is below and states that all Keystrokes employees must be informed. These files are open to the public to view.

I am nervous and excited at the same time. It's been a long time since I was an employee, so it will be a change. I have a few friends who went there last year and are very happy, so I am sure it will be a good thing for all of us. The drawback is that I feel too old for change, and I know things will. ...
