I'm looking for some recent info on Transtech out of Texas. I've checked the archives and read a lot of mixed reviews. Is there anyone currently working for them or who has worked for them in the recent past who can give me some honest feedback on how they are to work for? Is running out of work a major issue there? Are you able to make a good living working for them? Do they for the most part leave you alone to do your work and treat their MTs well? I don't want to invest the time and effort taking their test until I've gathered some feedback from current and former employees.

I can tell you their test is pretty long, so be ready for that. - The basic knowledge part is easy SM

but the dictation part of it, pieces I got, were kind of sucky. You have to register with mttest.com for it.

The whole thing was kind of a pain from start to finish, dinking around for a good 2 hours.

All that and not even the decency of any sort of response even though I had done well on the test.

Also, be careful if you have to download the foot pedal player file. It's from Career Step, so be careful to check for other crap that might have come with it and delete that file as soon as you're done. Don't even load it if you can help it. Load the voice files onto your desktop and use Express Scribe to play them. I hate and despise that test site thru CS, and despise any company gullible enough to hook up with them.

I have worked at TransTech for almost a year now. Left M-Modal due to all the outsourcing. This is a 100% USA company. I rarely run out of work in my primary, but if I do I have secondary accounts to provide work. Pay is average. They leave you alone to do your work. They do offer bonuses and line count incentives. Benefits are decent. You will have to work every other thanksgiving/christmas.
Getting time off has never been an issue. All in all I am happy with TransTech so far. People are friendly and QA is fair and helpful.

I'm sure the OP is already aware that the test is very similar to the tests that several other companies use.

I have worked for TransTech Medical (as opposed to TTS) for almost a year now. I love it. All the people I work with are great. They pretty much leave me alone unless I have questions or problems and then they are right there to help. They are flexible if I need time off. I occasionally run out of work on my primary (not often), but I have a backup account with plenty of work. I really like working here.

and am happy there. They are fair, glad to help with questions, leave you alone to do your job, and have good support and QA feedback. Its been a long time since I have been without work, although I do have 3 accounts. I think its a solid company and would recommend them as an employer.

I currently work for them and I like them. They are good to their people and are good to keep you with plenty of work. I would recommend them. :)
