Mommy Jobs ONline - just saying

Posted: Jun 25, 2013

Just saying is just curious:  The ad by Mommy Jobs ONline (forum) doesn't say what the fee, if any, is for MTs.   Surely there is no charge for MTs looking for a job?

Just went to the site, it costs anywhere from 85 to 210 bucks. - Ad should be taken down. nm

.

That is so weird, I actually got an email from this place - it was in my spam folder, sm

I got it this morning and I come on here just now and see this posting. I deleted the email as it looked like something that I would have to pay for and I don't look for work that I have to pay for, unless it is equipment or something of that nature that I could use for a future job.

I too got this email and I deleted it. It's a scam as far as I am concerned. No one should have to pay to get a job.

Ya, that was what I thought :) - just saying

Regardless of whether or not this site offers 'real' services, I think it's unconscionable to advertise 'mommy jobs' and then charge those 'mommies' for access to the information.

If anyone should bear a charge it would be the businesses not the MT desperately looking for work.

Mommy Jobs Online - it is definitely a scam

I received the email, as well, as my resume is posted on one of the larger job search companies. I had received a similar email from this place about two months ago when I was entirely out of work, so I checked into it. At that time, it was simply what they called a "job fair" where supposed companies who have partnered with MJO and have availabilities are supposedly there to look at resumes and do on the spot interviews, and possible hiring. However, in order to participate in this "job fair," you have to pay for the "opportunity." there is no guarantee of getting a job with one of these participating companies at all, if they are truly legitimate either. I "politely" told them what they could do with their "fee." I felt that being out of work entirely at that point, that asking $170 to participate in something that would not guarantee me a job, was basically milking me for money I did not have to give. When I received another email today, I responded also by telling them that I felt their advertisement was a scam and to not contact me again. The advertisement also said there was an "unsubscribe" option at the bottom of the page, which there was not, and that angered me even more. This has been my experience with this place. good luck to anybody who decides to pay to play. I am not going to!

Thank you for this information. I am in desperate need for a job and am not in any position to pay anyone or anything for a job. My husband and I have been homeless since 12/2013 when his disability ran out. We both do not have jobs and no one will help us. We got scammed for over $2000 in a rental real-estate permanent home placement/assistance fraud and we're sort of paranoid now to ever attempt to try to rent again. We know now that everyone and everything is subject to a scam. You can't trust anyone anymore. Sad, but true.... The Subject matter above is the agents code that sent me the same email.

Mommy Jobs Online A Disappointment
Sep 08, 2013

I recently participated in an online job fair hosted by MJOL, who implied that their leads were more numerous than I could find on job boards online.  The "fair" started late, and ended early which miffed me as I had paid $50 for an hour.  I got a list of companies "currently" hiring, some with phone numbers.  I applied to every single one I qualified for and I either was told they were NOT hiring or I heard nothing at all other than a nibble about doing some other work for one.&n ...

Just Another Vent About Jobs, No Jobs, Requirement Of Jobs, Etc.
Aug 18, 2010

It is insulting to all of us with the way that MT pay has gone down the drain, it is frustrating and aggravating to look for a "decent" job these days, trying to work out which companies will treat you fairly, which ones lie about their platforms, work, etc., and not only do these companies not want to pay us what we are worth but now I see that MANY companies are requiring the MT to have or "be willing" to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of equipment.  If an employer can PROMISE IN ...

Where Do I Find The Status Of Jobs And Number Of Jobs?
Nov 26, 2012

I tried entering my ID plus dep on the Fluency for Transcription page and it said my account was inactive.  Okay, so I tried twice with Remedy to get it reactivated.  Both times I got emails telling me it was working.  Tried again and no luck.  Am I on the right page, the one with the hideous orange splash, the same one we use to find our stats?  Any help appreciated, I really don't want to have to call tech support if I don't have to.  Do I even need to d ...

Online Applications
May 14, 2011

I just had to vent!  I am SICK AND TIRED of companies (mostly hospitals) with these l-o-n-g applications asking you to document your whole life history.  These are several pages long, and many times you are restricted to ANSWERS IN BOXES (drop-down menus) so can't enter free text.  Finally, there is NO WAY TO SAVE IT!  So you can get half or most of the way through and have to stop/pause and/or get stuck because of the dang drop-down stuff, when you can resume you h ...

How Difficult Is An Online MT School?
Dec 23, 2009

I'm seriously considering enrolling at one of the "top two" MT online schools.  I'm good at English grammar, spelling, type over 100 wpm with 98% accuracy, a perfectionist, and am also very focused.  I do have a full-time job, but can easily devote evenings and time on the weekends to complete the course.  I'm up for a challenge, but after doing quite a bit of research, this sounds really difficult.  Feedback please! ...

I'm finding significant gaps in my online training and I'm getting worried because I see all the job postings "must have 3 years, 2+ etc. experience" and wonder if: a) I'll be able to get a job b) have the requisite training due to gaps in coverage at my online school. I've got a million questions. I did great in terminology (98% avg) an ...

Anyone Know A Good Shorthand Online Course?
Mar 19, 2010

I finally got my study material for my administrative assistant course, but according to what I've read so far I may need to learn shorthand.  Transcribing my own scrawl is going to be a big step up from transcribing some of the dictators I've listened to, and I gotta say one good thing for my MT career, I don't need to worry about passing the keyboarding section. Anyone know where I can find a good online course for learning shorthand, that isn't too expensive?  T ...

Which Online Coding Program
Aug 17, 2010

How does one know which online coding program to take when they all seem pretty good, besides the price difference? I specifically want to know about AHIMA or Career Step from someone who has graduated and found a job.
