I think on-the-hour. E-mail them with your morning/afternoon or time preference and they will send you long-in information -- They also request your phone number, I guess so they can check attendance.

Not me - as another poster said, I hope no one participates nm - and all they hear are crickets

Mercedes Town Hall - anonymous

I participated in the town hall. I decided to mostly listen. The meeting was conducted by Catherine Dozier, but there were a few of the Mercedes advance team in the call as well. Catherine is perfectly charming. She is very good at making people feel important and like they matter. She elicited a few personal comments from the participants in the call. Very friendly, very personable. Probably a person you would enjoy going to lunch with. As a matter of fact, she said she likes to go around the country and if possible to meet with the MTs and go to dinner to have a more personal relationship. It all sounded very sincere.

Someone askeced about decreased pay. Very firm that it is not negotiable. Someone asked about shift work being required. Really didn't answer the question, kind of evasive about it.

Someone asked about VBC. Catherine said it was coming, but that it would not change our rate of pay. I did not ask about that, but if we receive 6.5 CPL, and then go to 6.5 for a VBC line, wouldn't that result in a significant decrease in the amount of money we see on our checks?

Question came up about outsourcing to India and Philippines. Catherine very deftly got the conversation back onto other matters--mainly how we are going to have a personal liason. Most of my town hall call centered on the personal liason. This lisason is going to be the one to call if you have any questions, if you don't know the name of a type of surgical dressing, etc.

Someone in my town hall wanted to know about IM. Catherine assured everyone that IM would certainly be possible and that Dan would set it up.

So--My best assessment is Catherine is very likable, very charming very good at her job. You get a liason in exchange for less pay.

Charming does not feed my family. I would be charming too if I was sm - JMO

getting wealthy off of someone else's back. Even without VBC, 6-1/2 cpl is a joke. It is not even a consideration for me and I should not wish anyone any ill, but I hope they go belly up.

Who wants a relationship with their employer other than a business one?

Our pay cuts will pay for C.D. flying around the country taking MTs to dinner!

Do they actually think of anyone other than themselves and how they are perceived? Really, the answer would be no.

That's what I'm pinning all my hopes on at this moment. L did say that the work would be greatly increasing once the dust settles (I'm paraphrasing), but as of now, they have half the accounts (none of them mine) and a whole bunch of people who don't want to leave to go with Mercedes. I sure hope they can help us out. I don't want to find another company. I've always loved working for the sisters.

I bet she doesn't pay for dinner. - nm

I guarantee you I won't be one of the "chosen few" to participate with questions in this town hall meeting next week, I cause too much trouble by sending e-mails throughout the year to Vern and Amy, never to any avail. So, we're scheduled for an upcoming conference call and have to be clocked off but will get paid forour time. So . . . do we get paid that ridiculously low PTO time that obviously is getting lowered for practically all of us every 6 months? Does anyone find it strange that 99% of us have had our PTO pay cut soooo much over the years? So if you disagree with a QA score done within the last week of the quarter, you are out of luck. So even if they are wrong you lose your QA bonus for 3 months. Maybe if MModal hired fewer employees from Microsoft they could afford to pay transcriptionist better and allow for cost of living raises.
