IMEDX company merger question - Wondering if I should stay

Can anyone comment as to when Imedx took over your company how things changed.  Anticipating changes now for TT as the line rate is good with bonuses, etc.   Will Imedx change pay rates?   Will MTs no longer be employee status but have to change status to IC?

My previous employer was bought out by ImedX and after a few months my wonderful doctors were 'transitioned'. In other words, sent to India. The account I work on now does not generate nearly the income I was making before. Plus you have to switch to their software....Turboflow Falcon. Terrible learning curve on that. Looking for a new job myself.

I thought merger was in March? - That would be almost 6 months

I work for TransTech and so far we have not had a change in our line rates. Now, that is not to say it won't happen, but it has been about a year since the merge. I have also not lost any of the accounts I edit to overseas. Imo, in this day and age, you risk acquisitions/buyouts I think whether you go. I am trying to hang in there until I can retire, which hopefully can happen in 2 years. Good luck to you.

So far nothing has changed. Worst case scenario, I take up an IC job on the side for more work if need be. Thankfully I only need to work part-time, but can understand why FT MTs who support a family on their income are worrying. I wish all of you the best, and hopefully any change will be minimal or we are put on other accounts.

As an employee, do they pay hourly/salary/per line and what sort of starting pay do they offer? I am taking test for them this weekend for Oncology MT position. Nothing was stated as far as pay. Thanks.

The "merger" (more like buyout) occurred in March, so that was only a little less than 6 months ago. I hightailed it out of there when it was announced.

my company was merged the first of the year (January). Within just the last 30 days, work is briskly going offshore... all went smoothly, w/o bumps then all of a sudden it was transitioned. Just waiting to see what happens while keeping other irons in the fire waiting for the ultimate axe to fall.

is Sept. 1 once the new platform/training is all done. Still no new work for those of us w/o work though. So sitting back and waiting to see what happens, trying to do more work at my other MT job in the meantime.

I work on Escription, so that will go away and we will have to learn a new platform?

have taken over so many of late. But most of us w/o work now and switching over to a VR platform now by Sept. 1 we were told.

other than the new email that we're supposed to transition to. I still get mostly a ton of work on my primary account. I'm betting that, if they're going to move all the work to India, it's going to take many months or even a year or two to train the Indians on all the accounts, and they may even keep a few U.S. workers for proofers for the toughies, who knows? Looks like they moved an account or two in South Dakota over, from what I read on this board; I'm guessing the harder clinics/hospitals will be the last to go.

In the meantime, I'm plugging away, but looking for other work, like I always was.

will probably stay stateside. I've done proofreading before for offshore work and the QA was pathetic - with the easiest docs ever. If an account isn't satisfied with the work that IMedX "transitions," then maybe they'll keep the Transtech MTs on it. The only thing that matters is what the client wants.

I just realized something that hit me in the gut.  I so want to believe T in the conference call that nothing is going to change, 2 companies with mutual interest, blah, blah, blah.  She sounded so honest and confident in what she was saying.  Today I realized the FAQ sheet she provided on IMedX was very misleading.  She stated they are headquartered in Atlanta with 2 additional offices in Connecticut and Ohio.  She didn't mention (intentionally I can only imagine) ...

The supervisors at my company were demoted to MTs unless they had a college degree and were willing to travel extensively. 2. SA3 Merger Problems

Anyone else in SA3 having problems with this merger?  My first job after we switched to the combined South area with a new log in # came up completed by someone else.  Called my manager and she said her phone is riinging off the hook with people telling her the same thing.  She does not know what the problem is, has to investigate. My CCM is great, I know she will inform us as soon as she knows, but in the meantime if these jobs keep coming up completed and all I do is upload ...

I came in with the merger of MDI a year+ ago.  I almost got an ulcer reading some of these posts, seriously.  While you must consider what you see here, especially when there is an abundance of similar opinions, be aware, a small percentage of the company's MTs post here.  I will offer my advice.  Treat it like a death of a spouse.  Mourn your loss and look towards the future.  Don't make any big changes for 1 year, or at minimum 4-6 months.  Go with ...

I guess this is just a question to those who have been part of a Nuance merger in the past.  Were you able to keep the schedule you were working before the merger, or were you herded into the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift spots?  I work split shift over two of them right now.  Anyone allowed to keep working M-F after a merger? I suppose I'm mainly wondering if I can continue to pick my own random schedule after the Trasncend merger is complete. ...

Well I was in the West regeon.  The big "merger" of accounts took place on Monday the 18th.  Well...by Wednesday I started to get the "no jobs allocated" message.  I am really hoping this is not going to be a trend.  All of the work must have seriously gone offshore...if not, where is it?  This doesn't look good...  ...

No one on this board seems to give specifics when they get canned from IMEDX. So my question is this: Can each person who got laid off/fired let us know more details. Were you PT or full time, did they call or did they email, did you have options, or just firing. How many lines did you do per day. So now Medquist and M*Modal are merging. Wonder what this is going to mean for all of us working for companies that utilize M*Modal. Now I understand why WMX sold out to Nuance. Seems to me no one wants to hire Medquist because of their terrible quality so now they are swallowing up competitors platforms and bullying their way into accounts. Transcend Merger Effecting QA

Can anyone currently working in QA at Nuance comment on how the position is compensated.  Do you get an hourly wage like we currently do at Transcend or can we expect to be switched to production based.  Do you even have QA staff?  The company I came from previously (Medquist) practically did away with their QA staff, making them MTs/QA.  Just wondering what I can expect.  Thanks for your opinions. ...

I did.  There again, they cover their tail in every respect, re us having second jobs, downtime, etc.  It is quite a list.  I'm afraid the death of MDI is the end of decent MT jobs.  Have you read the details?  What do you think? ...
