I try to stay positive, but every time I get one of these awful VR reports sm - Totally disgusted

I hate Synernet more and more. I know that I have to accept VR, but WHY do I have to be forced to use such a cruddy bunch of software. It doesn't learn anything. I have had to practically re-type the whole report and then get the "honor" of only being paid 4 cpl for it. If the higher ups were forced to endure this, I would bet some changes would be made fast, quick, and in a hurry.

lines they were promised when they bought this crappy expensive VR software. I've been comparing how long it takes me to type a straight report and how long it takes me to correct a VR report and the straight typing is faster so far. They're not going to get the lines they want. Then the screaming will start. It will be our fault. Wait and see. I've done VR before and it was pretty good; this one doesn't pick up anything. I know I'm going to be working for 4 cpl; if they'll let me or constantly harass me to do more. I wonder if anyone is getting their lines right now. I also wonder if when we get so far behind in TAT and the clients are calling for their work, if these higher ups that used to be MTs are pitching in and helping get the work out or are they just calling us on weekends and days off to tow the line and get it done? Now if I knew they were giving up THEIR days off and pitching in along side of us, that would make a big difference in my morale. What do you think? Think they are keying away on their days off?

I don't mind VR and I don't mind changes, but you are so right in this crappy software they use. I would leave if I didn't have kids and a husband on disability. I am currently trying to find other jobs. Just know you aren't alone.

I love VR. There is 1 company bashed on here constantly - and their VR is like a cake walk

I never retype a report, in fact were told years ago we could not do that even if at 4 cpl. Having said that, am not going to tell the name of the company but their VR is almost A letter perfect. You can find another place to where you do not have to hate on VR, it can be done and it is out there.

I agree. I do not work for any company (yet, still in-house for a major healthcare system) but EditScript is the only platform I know of that the VR "can be" like a cake walk. I've worked on 2 other platforms and they were horrible, I had to use my mouse so many times to make corrections because they don't offer non-mouse shortcuts that I developed tennis elbow. Once I quit those jobs and just did my FT job on EditScript, no more tennis elbow. I still have to do corrections but not nearly as many with the other platforms.

I'm an IC and don't make a great line rate (9 cents/line) but I'm fast and my doctors are easy so it works out to a fairly good rate/hour. My question is I've recently been given a new account with a doc who does reports that are on average only 20 seconds long. is able to finish a complete sentence without losing their thought or incessantly repeating themselves because they keep losing their place. It's getting annoying. I've done about a 1/2 dozen reports so far and NOT ONE has been just a normal dictation. Rarely are they taking 1/2 the time of straight typing. The majority are taking at least as long as it would to straight type and some more time. This is all due to the number of corrections and punctation and formatting I have to do! ...

I just need to vent. I have worked for this company for 7 years and can't believe how terrible they treat their ICs. I thought they were a decent place to work but they have now shown otherwise. like many of you, Ive been with MQ for a while, pushing 10 yrs, and like most of you, have gotten spooked by the changes of late. Mostly the NJA and now the all ME work, which I can finally see, can really be not too much of a big deal. have the chance to either change my status, adding hrs and gaining some PTO, or making a total change and going to another, much smaller company. Having a hard time deciding whether I should continue working for MM until they go under and have to lay off everyone and I could collect unemployment or if I should just leave, thereby leaving behind all the stress and frustration that I feel daily.
