Encompass or Probity-does anybody ever hear back from them?! - cc

I tested with both and know I did well (lots of experience with this stuff) but have heard nothing back from Probity and got a letter of interest from Encompass, which I responded to, then NADA. Has anyone actually been able to move forward recently with getting a job at either place?! I noticed the only real problem I've seen regarding Encompass in the archives is their inability to get back to people in a timely way and I am seeing that in action. Anybody?

I went through the same with Encompass. I gave up and moved on. I applied back in December and they still can't make a decision? Ridiculous. Probity sent me a response that they would review my testing in two weeks. Trying to find FT employment and applying with several companies. Didn't think it would take this long....

I worked for Probity briefly at the beginning of last year. It took about 2 months from the time I sent my test in to when I was actually contacted. I had actually written them off as a "thanks, but no thanks" company on my list.

They're a good company. MAJOR emphasis on the BOS. I struggled with the specific account I was on and couldn't really make enough lines to survive, but that was because of my own shortcomings and not the company's, but the emphasis on BOS issues did factor into it.

Your response gives me encouragement. At least Probity is a company that is still thinking of you. Unfortunately, this shows domestic MTs how difficult the job market is out there. I have a part-time job and love that employer and actually was hired right away by a company FT, but because the transcription platforms for both employers had a conflict issue and were incompatible, I had to discontinue employment, which I wasn't expecting. BOS doesn't really bother me because I've had so much feedback from previous employers who were strict on BOS rules. Still, there are a lot of MTs looking for work and I wonder if there are enough jobs for all of us. I hope so.

Hey ladies, yes it is very hard out there which really surprises me also. I remember when you could pretty much call up a company and get offered work that day. With all the VR, India stuff, EFR it's getting very hard. I think you are rt about there being a lot of people looking. Do you see the view counts on the job ads? Let me give you some insight on my last 30+ days of job searching (had to leave the clinic because they went electronic). I have applied at 33 (no joke) companies. I have 12 yrs experience in acute care including radiology. I got 7 replies back that "we are not hiring" (why have an ad then or not tell us on your website?) and am waiting to hear back from 19 of them and was contacted to test from 4 others. Of those, only 1 has actually said they will call me tomorrow (unfortunately it's a co. that no one really likes on the chat board; you can probably guess) and got a reply today to do the test, which I did and now it's the waiting game on that. 3 replied back but the pay scale was honestly ridiculous (5 cents?) In dec. I did take a job with someone but only lasted a month because I got ops I had no experience with, horrible platform, and even on a good dictation made less than $8/hr. And I'm usually a 250-400 line an hour producer (depending on docs and report types) Frankly, it's scary. It's just surprising. I won't quit though. It's all I know. Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better knowing I'm not the only one struggling here. You can email me if you want info on the companies not hiring and not getting back. :)

I applied for a hospital job (non-MT) about 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing yet. I am just wondering how long I should wait to hear back. This is not the only job I applied to, sending out resumes, but this is the one I wanted. The job is still posted on their website, so presumably not filled yet. I have been doing MT for almost 15 years, and the one company I have been with for the past 9 years is suddenly getting less and less work. I have been sending out resumes, taking the tests, etc., and I don't hear ONE THING BACK from any of them . . . . so frustrating.
