Does anyone out there have any experience with Medgarde. They apparently hire IC and schedule jobs according to TAT. They state payment by production only and direct deposited weekly. I guess I need to know their reliability, their stability - anything on this company would be appreciated. Thanks.
Another person asked basically the same question a couple of weeks ago and got zero replies, but he/she had an interview, so maybe you could email them to find out what their opinion of the interview was.

Personally, I looked up their website and have some doubts about working there as far as long-term stability.
From their website:
1. They have front-end speech recognition. What that means to me is that once they got that SR trained, the client could pull their account and go strictly with front-end (MedGarde would lose that account). The solution: NEVER let the speech recognition get to the point where it can be switched to front-end. What that means for the MTs doing the editing – constant garbage, never learning, low-paying account.
2. They offer what they call a “Price Match Program.” So, if they have a client who finds an MTSO with a better rate, in order to keep that client MedGarde will have to lower their rates. Does the MT also end up getting paid less because of that?
3. “In 2010, we decided to expand our service offering to include transcription service for legal and other non-medical industries.” My interpretation: They are either getting greedy or they do not think medical transcription can sustain their company in the long-term.
4. “In 2007, MedGarde began implementing the visual black character (VBC) counting method.”
5. They have a 24-hour TAT on most accounts, but we all know that shorter TAT is becoming a huge issue. Could MedGarde possibly lose clients because they want their reports back faster?
If I am looking to work for a company that I will still be with 5 or 10 years from now (and still making a living wage), these are the things I would have to take into consideration, and MedGarde would worry me. I would constantly be worrying that my account or my job would suddenly disappear without warning (I know that happens all the time anyway with any MTSO, but it would seem like more of a possibility with this company than with others).
Also, I found some of their application questions odd or at least discouraging to some MTs. My opinion is that they want to eliminate applicants without even giving them a chance to test or interview. Some of the questions are ones that are usually asked during an interview, not in an application. Again, just my opinion.
