Does anyone have information on Opti-Script? Are they hiring? There's not too much info in the archives. Any info (good or bad) would be appreciated. TIA

By far, the WORST experiences of my MT life have been at the small/tiny companies, the "mom-and-pop" operations. I could write a book -- maybe I will!!

So, Opti-Script is the worst small company job you ever had? If you truly believe that, then it's good you moved on elsewhere and left the work to those of us who absolutely LOVE working here. Maybe, just maybe, you were one of the MTs who couldn't be bothered filling in your timecard, made obscene demands, and just plain did not do your job. If you were expected to behave professionally and couldn't handle it, then I am sure it was the worst job you ever had. I could not imagine this company and it's staff getting any better than they already are... period..
And, to the poster who claims she was asked to post a nice comment, I find that a little hard to believe. I could not imagine our recruiting staff doing that. There are enough of us who love it and glad to speak for them......

I've been here 3+ years and it's the best I've worked for. Never miss a pay, very fair, treat MTs well. All the management team is former MTs I think, including the president. Work low over the holidays, but that's pretty normal. Use employees, not ICs, so that's an adjustment. Must adhere to schedule but they have accounts with 2-hour TAT. I think the pay is pretty good, and I average over $20 an hour. But it's not a good fit for an MT who doesn't show up or doesn't communicate. They're big on doing one's job and meeting the standards. That's not for everybody, but I'm grateful to be able to earn a decent living, not have to worry about buying a computer, and get decent benefits. That's my opinion of course.

Yes, I agree with you completely. Been here over 5 years, and I know some have been here over 15 years. Plus I like the rolling average for PTO (including holidays) and all training and downtime. You don't find that too many places. I'm up to 3 weeks vacation I think it is, and 6 holidays, and getting my rolling average of usually $22 or $24 an hour for all that time is sweet! But there's a trade-off. I need to be on working when I'm supposed to be. I'll take that any day over the companies which are constantly NJA and over-hire. Nobody's a winner in that game.

I've never known them to do anything like that. In fact, sometimes I think they may be too honest for their own good. Not that I'm knocking that, but they tell the truth to their employees, not some trumped up concocted baloney. They are real, which is refreshing in this industry. So no, no one ever even suggested I respond. If they had, I wouldn't have done it.

It struck me as odd, but I was happy to do it. It didn't work out for me, but I have nothing bad to say about the company. They seem like nice people, and I truly am glad you are happy there. I just cannot help but think about that when I see the "happy" posts, especially after someone was so negative.

Personally, I am glad there are so many companies out there and so many options so that we can all find whatever fits our needs, although maybe not our salary requirements. It seems those days are over. :(

Anyway, again, I wasn't meaning anything bad about OptiScript. :-)

I have worked for MQ and others over the years. I like this company partly because it is smaller. They work very hard to keep accounts happy and MTs working. I have never worked anywhere that was so conscientious about keeping the work load adequate for MTs while trying to provide TAT coverage for the accounts.

I think the pay is reasonable considering the market. Their VR to straight typing pay ratio is the best I have seen.

I have never been told I cant take time off, which I REALLY like.

They do not overhire, but you can test and go on a waiting list.

I think they run the thing like a business should be run. Maybe that's why they're not getting bought out by MQ or Nuance. I saw on the president's LinkedIn or somewhere a quote, "Happy employees make for happy customers" or something like that. They do treat the employees well, especially in light of where this industry has gone to. You can't average over $20 an hour at most other MTSOs these days and get benefits plus know that your paycheck is going to be in the bank when it's supposed to be. And they pay the payroll taxes and SS, plus pay about 75% of the insurance.

I know some MTs who can't make it because they don't show up for work or their quality stinks. Some might whine that's micromanagement. I think it's just good business. Most of their accounts have been around a long time, so I think they're happy. And most MTs stay a long time, but a few don't for whatever reason. I'm happy. They can micromanage me all day long when I make $50,000 a year!

I tested with Opti-Script less than 2 months ago and I was told that I passed, but that there was a waiting list to be hired and that they would contact me as soon as they had openings. I have read so many good things about Opti-Script - tested recently but no openings right now. Low turnover rate - which is GOOD! So I'll wait.....So many slave shop companies out there - I don't want to go that route. Talked with some companies and tested with some. BTW, one gripe I have - testing for a company - and knowing you did well, but absolutely NO REPLY!!!
