Supposed to be a great place to work, but you will never get called unless there someone leaves. I found the recruiter rather rude with her emails, and a bit condescending, and withdrew my application.

Opti-Script - opposite for me

I had the opposite experience and got hired after several months of being on a waiting list. The pay is better than most, but their standards are high. I'm very happy here and glad I waited. The recruiter is also the QA Manager and is very fair. But she's a no nonsense kind of person, which may be why you found her condescending. She's definitely not warm and fuzzy but does her job well, and I really like the company a lot. She is a former MT, as are all the managers. That makes a difference in how they operate. But I don't think they're hiring right now.

I sure don't like where I am now and I hate my shift. I'm a hard-working, loyal employee when I'm treated fair.

I too have had a positive experience. Actually I think it is a good thing that they dont hire "unless someone leaves." They are extremely careful about not overhiring and allowing the existing MTs to get the work done. It is rare to run out of work. The pay is fair and the platform is pretty easy. The speech engine is one of the best I have worked on (3 so far).

I went on the waiting list and just stayed with my old company until they called me. It was worth it.

I didn't think 8.5 cpl was very good compensation considering the experience they wanted....passed on their offer.

I think the lines add up pretty quickly, so I think I make a decent hourly rate. Also, the ratio for VR is much better than other places, and about 80% ends up being VR so that's important.

Because Opti-Script has benefits (employee status only) and there's the opportunity to increase the line rate with less need for QA help, I do fairly well here. Plus they don't jerk you around with running out of work all the time. I think they're an exceptional company and miles ahead of most MTSOs out there. Of course we all want to get paid 10 cpl but those opportunities don't exist any more. And the speech is really pretty good. I'm happy.

I tested with Opti-Script less than 2 months ago and I was told that I passed, but that there was a waiting list to be hired and that they would contact me as soon as they had openings. I just noticed that they posted an ad on Monday for acute care MTs "needed immediately", but I have not heard from them. I have read so many good things about Opti-Script - tested recently but no openings right now. Low turnover rate - which is GOOD! So I'll wait.....So many slave shop companies out there - I don't want to go that route. Talked with some companies and tested with some.
