158 views but no comments so I will tell you what I know..I worked for Nuance and I would never work for them again..just check out their forum on here. I never worked for Amphion but have not really heard anything bad about them but I can guarantee they don't have the stupid pay grid that Nuance uses where you have to achieve the 3 metrics (Accuracy, CLPH, and less than 10% to QC) in order to make even minimum wage..AND even if you get 100% accuracy an awesome LPH but you get even 10.01% to QC you only make 7 cpl..I would go with Amphion
HUGE DIFFERENCE - Go with Amphion

I have worked for both. Amphion is a good company. I only worked PT for them as I worked FT for Nuance. Not working for Nuance anymore. Something snapped with that company now......the reviews are not just blowing off steam, Nuance truly is not a good place to work anymore!!
I also worked for both.... go with (sm) - dusty

Amphion. I was a "proofreader" (also known as quality assurance editor and off-hours tech support and too many other duties not in job description) with half of the time doing that, half of the time fighting to make an almost impossible amount of lines transcribing on the archaic Triton program, with a little bit in EScription (much more efficient). It was stressful for the money, but a great experience overall, until the end, then watch out for HR. Started as an MT - the pay is wonky (no spaces or headers, and just doesn't always add up when you check it).
Nuance was a nightmare in almost every way and not recommended to my worst enemy!!
I worked for both part-time. Didn't like either one. - wannie

Nuance's convulted way of determining pay is ridiculous. Amphion pays higher CPL but doesn't pay for spaces. I just simply did not like Amphion, so I quit and just work PT for Nuance now. I generally have work and get paid on time. I have a great TSM, but that's about the only positive thing I can say.
Nuance Fiesa is about to drive me insane. 0.25 deduction for not putting a period in. REALLY???? I will contest it, but hate the amount of time we have to spend defending ourselves against this crappy QA system.
Thinking about SoftScript. Anyone able to compare how their QA stands next to Nuance. Any info for comparison purposes welcome.
I realize there is no such thing as a perfect company, but... Thanks. ...
I have had the interview with Ampion as was said in my previous message. I've got a good feeling about it. Last night, I get an email from Nuance that I passed their testing and they want to speak to me about a possible position. What to do...... ...
Looking for feedback both negative and positive on these three companies. I have been hired by one and have interviews with the other two. Two of the companies are strictly VR and one is straight typing. I am looking for pros and cons on VR versus straight typing, how QA personnel are to work with, difficult dictation, and whether or not the work is steady.
Thank you for anything you have to offer. ...
I work for Amphion and I'm generally happy with it. That said, I've seen on here before that Amphion is part of Nuance. Then in one of my emails recently I saw the name Nuance mentioned (in reference to workload). Is that true? That kinda makes me a little uneasy seeing that MM and N are the top two undesirables (that's putting it nicely). I've read through the Nuance postings and see alot of negative comments and I am wondering if some of that applies to Amphion MTs too. My ...
Both these are hiring for less than 40 hours a week. See pros and cons for both.
I had seen where TTS uses Nuance's QA? Nuance grid system is just what I want to get away from.
Comparison of the 2 companies appreciated.
Considered SoftScript, but see there is no way in *^*&^ to get any day shift hours even with splitting part 1st shift and part 2nd or 3rd. ...
I am wondering if there are any current Amphion employees out there that can give me an idea what it is like over there? Pay, accounts, platform? I tested with them yesterday but then saw some poor reviews on another site. I currently work for Nuance and am wondering if just staying with what I know might be better, or should I try to do both part-time until something else comes along??? I am wanting to get into coding but have to bide my time until I can pay for school, which is why I applied f ...
Is there anyone out there who has worked for Spheris and other large companies? If so, how does Spheris compare? Looking for other opportunities, but don't want to end up in a worse situation :) In particular, has anyone worked for both Spheris and Webmedx?
thanks ...
especially if you're on a southwestern account and doing editing for the first time. I started with MQ last month and feel very discouraged, mainly for all the minor negative feedback I'm getting. I'd like to know how the other new employees are doing so I can get a sense of where I stand. I keep thinking any day now I'll get a notice I'm fired. Email me directly and dish it out. ...
I'm seeing pay rates all over the place on this board and I'm just curious as to what others are receiving. I'm an independent contractor. I have a lot of psychiatric accounts but they only pay 10 cents a line (65 characters, of course). That's a decrease from my standard rate a few years ago (but supply and demand made me reduce my rate). Because I'm a fast typist and the psychiatric work is easy, I easly make $30 an hour when I'm focused.I've ...
I've been on EditScript for a while now and was looking for another position using the same platform but elsewhere. I have a lead that is M*Modal, though (they used to use EditScript), and even the recruiter admitted that of those who've done both, most prefer EditScript. But I'm thinking that with a smaller company where there aren't so many cooks in the kitchen it might even out to be about the same in terms of quality anyway? Or maybe I'll just be on ...
Can we post line rates quoted to experienced MTs this year? I think many of us do not wish to waste applying and testing for a company that is reducing the line rate AGAIN to only .03 cpl.
If anyone was offered less than .04/.08, did you turn it down? Did they offer more? Name of company? Thanks for any input. ...
Can someone please tell me how to compare line rates between IC and employee? I know IC pays less due to taxes and social security not paid by employer, but if someone could tell me what 8 cpl as an IC really pays, I would really appreciate it. TIA. ...
they call this a 12-course basics. it says 2000, plus you need an additional 290 +225 for the required anatomy and physiology course, which you must at least get a C before you can proceed with the coding. they also suggest 35 a year for becoming a member. books are also a lot extra, looks like.
says 4 clusters of 15-week courses, that is 60 weeks, yes?
anyone have experience with this course? call me gun-shy, but this is the organization who threw MT unde ...
Anyone ever get fired from Amphion for not meeting line requirements?
I work for them FT or more as needed and have yet to make the 12,000 line requirement. I've been with them for 6 months now and have not heard a peep about it. My QA is meeting requirements and my attendance is excellent, but I have yet to make the line count. I've switched my schedule, asked for another team, another account, work extra, racked my brain, all to no answer or just "no". I'm not sure what to do a ...
Considering applying for work with Amphion. I understand they do not pay for spaces. Do they pay for headers or do anything to bring up the line rate? If not, I won't bother. Thanks. ...
Does anyone know anything about Amphion. I know nothing. I think I'm going to have to find another job because of changes being made in the company I work at currently. I can't afford such a drastic pay cut as what is coming for me so I'm looking around for a transcription job, not VR. Any information good or bad is welcome. Thanks to anyone who responds. It is greatly appreciated. ...
I'm applying at Amphion just wondering if anyone could give me some current information on them. Good company to work for? Pays on time and accurate? Enough work to go around? I did a search for info but didn't see anything real recent. I'd appreciate any information you can offer. Thanks! ...
Hello! Can anyone tell me anything about Amphion; specifically how costly is their health insurance? Do they provide steady work? Thank you in advance! ...
Can anyone provide a ballpark range of what Amphion pays for straight transcription per line and for VR? I understood they also offered a shift differential.
Thanks! ...
I've narrowed my job search down to two companies with Amphion being one of them.
I'd appreciate it if anybody could give me an idea of their experience at Amphion with respect to pay, if their SR platform works well, how long it took you to get up to speed and earning decent money, how much SR and how much typing, etc.
Basically the stuff that you would have liked to known before you went to work at Amphion.
Thanks very much ...
