Augusta Coding and Transcription charge a monthly fee for their license - Pauline

Posted: Dec 02, 2011

I have an offer to apply.  I noted they charge a monthly fee for their license free.  I have lots of acute-care experience and I have never paid for anything like that.  A little hesitant about that though.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  At the present time, I really need a job.   Thanks

STAY AWAY from that company. I worked for them for over a year and only had work once in a blue moon (I was full-time). So not worth my time......sometimes pay is not on time....SERIOUSLY, STAY AWAY

Yes, they charge 20 for the program monthly and 2 for direct deposit, plus pay way lower line rates. No specifics on work, nobody seems to know how programs operate and although you must use AIM to communicate, she is always always "AWAY." Work is iffy. The good thing is they do pay on time.

Negative Feedback Regarding Augusta Coding And Transcription
May 09, 2012

I have been reading all of the negative feedback about Augusta Coding and Transcription and I am so upset.  I have been with this company for almost two years and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.  They have been the most flexible and easiest people to work with in the world.  There are monthly fees for platform and direct deposit, about $13 per pp,  but that is what being an Independent Contractor is all about.  I have not worked for a company yet that doesnt charge anything. ...

Non-medical Transcription - Have No Idea What To Charge
Mar 02, 2011

I have an opportunity to transcribe interviews for the county.  The files will be anywhere from 15 min to hours long, 3 to 4 of these a week, TAT is 1 week.  At the beginning of each interview, the lead interviewer dictates the attendees’ names and reason for participation in the interview.  On each transcription, the person speaking must be identified each time he/she speaks.   Occasionally more than 1 person speaks at a time and that has to be sorted out and identification made of ea ...

What To Charge For Simple Interview Transcription?
Nov 14, 2011

I hope this is the right board to ask this quick question!  If not, please re-direct me. A friend of mine has a genealogy business, and does Q & A sessions with people (usually elderly, but some not) about their lives, their family history.  She will be needing these interviews transcribed (simple format).  Each interview is about 5 minutes of dictation time, and they're digital files that she will e-mail to me, and I'll e-mail them back.  No printing invo ...

Charge For General Transcription. Have Only Ever Charged For Medical
Jun 30, 2011

Recently contacted by a local church pastor to transcribe some sermons for him to make into a booklet form.  (Maybe 3 to 4 hours worth of work or about 160 minutes).  I have never done or charged for general transcription like that and certainly don't want to over charge a church, yet do not want to do it for free either.  They asked me would I want to be paid the same way the hospital pays me?  What are your suggestions?  Thanks in advance.  Forgive me if I pu ...

Hired For Coding/billing/transcription, But Told No Coding
Aug 13, 2013

Accepted a job, gave 2 weeks notice, and yesterday was my first day.  I was to be helping out transcription (1000 jobs behind), and then sitting with billing and training with coding as their coder will be out on maternity leave in December.  The office is adding another surgeon, and they are rapidly expanding.  So I gave a proper 2 weeks' notice to my former employer (2 hours on the road there and back, low salary - now less than half distance and $3 more an hour) and starte ...

About The Monthly Bonus....
Oct 26, 2009

We used to get the monthly production bonus as a separate check on the 25th.   I didn't get a separate check for this although I should have qualified.  Paltry as it is, every little bit helps.  I do see an "incentive bonus" on my regular paystub, but I'm not sure if this is from some past incentive I have since forgotten about or if they are now just putting the regular monthly bonus on one statement along with our regular pay. Can anyone help?  Is the month ...

If Anyone Gets A Monthly Bonus.....
Nov 25, 2009

Have you found that it's getting less and less for the VERY SAME AMOUNT OF LINES?  I got a smaller bonus (piddly as it is) this month for MORE lines than I produced a few months ago and got a larger bonus for.  I know the bonus is pretty much based on some kind of whim and/or some computations that require a master's degree in mathematics to figure out, but it would sure be nice if they could be consistent.  I guess I should be glad I get one at ALL at this point.  ...

Transcription To Coding
Sep 07, 2010

I've been an at-home medical transcriptionist for a national company for a little over six years.  I loved my job until February when my company went over to VR.  I'm not happy with the voice recognition and have decided to go back to school to get certification for coding.  I'm wondering if anyone else has transitioned successfully from transcription to coding.  Are you able to apply what you've learned in transcription to coding?  Are your day-to-da ...

Too bad there isnt an integrated course for both! Thank you all! ...

WMX QA Monthly Status Report
Sep 14, 2010

Just read this report, and I find it so ironic and insulting that they institute this new non-productive, mistake-promoting platform and garbage-producing ISR, degrade the sound, and then turn around and blame us for the customer complaints that are coming in about quality of work. They should be looking at their decision to buy it, listen to us about it's shortcomings, and fix it or go back to what worked, we enjoyed using and were productive with quality reports using it!&n ...

Hey Everyone! I'm going to take a chance and attempt to get some objective answers to my questions. I'm interested in pursuing training to become an MT/Editor, mainly because I'm very interested in working part time from home. I currently work as a law assitant, which is a great job in an extremely crappy w ...
