Anyone have any info on Phoenix Medcom....not sure if they are overstaffed or if they are just - disappointed

loosing accounts and don't want to admit it. They advertise "plenty of work" but its not true unless you are working a handful of accounts. All the posts I see in archive touch on the same subject with them. I read a recent post about the subject and the only reply was from someone who (appeared to be the owner) simply said to ask for more work...(yeah right, sounds good). Just wondered if there is some honest info out there on them aside from the posts from the handful of "loyal workers" that seem to scan these boards. If someone could please email me some helpful info I would appreciate it as well.....I just don't want to jump ship too soon.

Great platform (ChartScript), great account with very few ESLs, all straight transcription, and really nice people, IMO.

The downside? I left after just a couple of months because there just wasn't enough work at all. I'd go 2-3 days without a single report to transcribe, trying at various hours 24/7.

They did offer me to download another platform for transcribing letters, etc., but that sounded less than appealing so I took another offer from another MTSO.

I have nothing bad at all to say about PM, except they just don't have enough work.

I've worked there for a few years and liked it. There was always a lot of work and people were nice. But lately they seem to have a lost a lot of accounts, for which of course they blame the transcriptionists. I am so tired of gettting emails from them ranting about how they lost another account because we transcriptionists are careless. I am not perfect but all my work is proofed and I take my time. They don't seem to be doing any QA any more. I have taken a full time job with another company with lots of work and just get work from PM a few times a week. I would not rely on them for a full time job any longer

same here....it was good in the beginning and now its just getting ridiculous....I was also - disappointed

starting to feel the same way with the "emails" every few months blasting the MTs about how they are not doing enough to "cater" to their docs/accounts.....garbage in garbage out is what I say.

I saw this company in a job posting and want to try a more flex schedule. I work part time right now but have to work weekends and am getting tired of it. I don't need insurance and barely get any PTO as it is so I feel I am not losing anything, only gaining time and flexibility. Phoenix Medcom requires a business card from each IC contracting with them. I was an IC many years ago and didn't even have a contract then; have been an employee ever since that time. According to their job posting, you would not be able to access the internet while connected to the VPN. I was wondering if this would affect ALL computers using the same internet connection. For example, my son connects to the internet on his laptop in my home via wireless connection. If I were logged onto the VPN, would he also be blocked from accessing the internet?
