Good or bad? Work Comp Reports that are "technical"? Any ideas, suggestions? Offered the job but scared!!

I was given the IC job w/Phoenix. My experience was not good. They give you 2 days to get account under control. They will not tell you if you are doing it right or not after 2 days, then you just don't get any work - "can't give you any work is stat, all work coming in now is stat." I spent $$ getting the account set up and in 6 weeks only made $152. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine.

Thanks for the info! Sounds weird to have to pay so much, and then only give you two days of training. Inscribe is not my favorite platform, as I think it takes a long time to get any lines, and if I am required to complete 500 lines/day it could take a very long time! I may reconsider this endeavor.

I've often wondered if Inscribe kind of cheated you on lines. I know it's Nuance software. It's not hard to work on but it certainly does take a long time for your lines to add up so I agree with Zenobia, plus you can have all of those cheap QT lines on Inscribe too.

would you pls explain, re inscribe - what exactly are cheap QT lines

QT lines are Qualified Text, in other - words

things that populate automatically that you don't type, like a template for a physical exam, headings, etc. At my company where I have straight typing account, I get paid 8 cpl regular transcription and 2 cpl for QT.

how much or little you made in the 6 months? And to what do you attribute the terrible outcome? Platform, lack of work, restricted work, all this and more...? I worked for one of these places with EMDAT/Inscribe for a couple of months. It was ghastly--in terms of many things, and they paid me next-to-nothing. And I mean, like $10 for 2-3 hours' work at a time, that sort of thing...they kept 'stopping and starting' me, like someone above seems to describe. I think this was a ruse to confuse me as to how much I was making...or how little...just disgusting...tactics we couldn't have dreamed of until recently. I too, think I made less than $300 in the 2 months. Actually, it's more like $3.00 an hour. See why we don't try to figure it out? It's too painful.

I have been there for almost a year and my experience has been nothing but positive. I love my account. No one ever bothers you and I usually have plenty of work, rarely run out. Pay is always on time. They know the meaning of a true IC, so I really appreciate that about them.

loosing accounts and don't want to admit it. They advertise "plenty of work" but its not true unless you are working a handful of accounts. Phoenix Medcom requires a business card from each IC contracting with them. I was an IC many years ago and didn't even have a contract then; have been an employee ever since that time. According to their job posting, you would not be able to access the internet while connected to the VPN. I was wondering if this would affect ALL computers using the same internet connection. For example, my son connects to the internet on his laptop in my home via wireless connection. If I were logged onto the VPN, would he also be blocked from accessing the internet?
