Amphion - good or bad? I currently work at - anon

Nuance. I got hired on by OSi, which was a good company, but Nuance took over, and it's becoming more and more of a nightmare every day. I am getting so miserable. The people that transferred over from OSi are great and great to work for that's what has been keeping me there, but Nuance is terrible, and they're buying out all of the good companies out there! Is Amphion any better? Any current or ex Amphioners out there? Would greatly appreciate your feedback! I don't know where to go or what to do at this point! I was going to apply at WebMedX a short while back but Nuance bought them out, too!

I worked briefly part-time at Amphion and what a great group of people to work for. Very friendly, very personal, great training, great communication. The ONLY reason I chose to pursue another option was there simply wasn't enough work to even get through my 4-hour shift. Hopefully things have picked up because if you have sufficient work to keep you going, IMO it was a great place to work.

Also, check to see if your account pays for spaces. As I recall, the account I was hired for did not.

I have been working at Amphion for almost a year and I absolutely love it here. I am not sure which team xamphion was on that kept running out of work, but since i have been here, we have gotten several large accounts on my team and they are always asking for people to put in extra hours, especially on weekends. They do not often approve overtime, but there have been several times that that has happened

I can count the times i have run out of work on one hand, and when i was having some problems, some work related and some not, the company was very helpful and supportive.

I dont think any of the accounts pay spaces, but to be honest, with the platform i am on anyway, i dont notice that that makes too much of a difference because i am able to produce more with a user-friendly platform. i hope this will help you make a decision.

I also came to amphion from a nuance company. i was employed with focus last year and absolutely hated the toxic work environment.

I have an interview with them soon and after hearing such wonderful things about them, I'm even more excited! I was with ATSI the past year and that was a complete disaster ending with not being paid for the last 5 weeks I worked for them. I'm sincerely hoping I can find a home with them.

ATSI was the first online company I worked for five years ago. There were payment issues then, with me being told my check had been mailed a week or more before it was actually postmarked, the numbers not being correct, et cetera. i was always told it was a glitch and the payroll guy always had some excuse. In the time i have been with Amphion, there was a payroll issue once having to do with overtime pay, and they corrected the issue by the next payday and paid out the money that was owed. i really love it here, and hope that anyone else that comes aboard will feel the same way.

Rad MT... radiology is hit or miss with Amphion - poor MT

It sounded sooo good from the recruiter.. not one thing actually came true. They don't pay for spaces but then every account was editing and Triton (their platform) is not user-friendly. I wanted to type, not edit and thought I was hired to type. It was a new radiology account and 2nd shift. Work ran out at by 6 pm. Then they lost a big account that I did have work on. I complained and got more accounts but they only produced a few reports. I changed my hours, did everything and got nothing. I never made more than minimum wage. Yes, I had around 7 accounts but not one of them was busy enough for me to make any money.
I have heard good things about the other teams tho, just not radiology. I hope you have a much better experience and please do tell us how it goes!

They sound great. What is their required line count, and are they all voice recognition? Are they understanding about line counts? I struggle with my line count. Thanks for your help!

The line requirements may vary a little from team to team, and depend some on the schedule and type of account, from what i understand, but it is not so far fetched. There is a LOT of voice recognition, I am not going to lie.

The only time anyone ever complained about my line count is if it fell below minimum wage. The one time i had that happen, it was due to some personal situations on my end that interfered with my ability to be able to work productively, and they did everything they could to help me get my counts up, including offering me a mentor and many other helpful tips. they really do want their MTs to do well, and will help make that happen any way they can.

Well, when you are interviewed, they ask you what schedule you are looking to work, so you have some flexibility in setting your schedule. Once you start working, you are expected to stick to your schedule, but they do understand that things happen sometimes and as long as you follow the proper steps, they will work with you to a point. you are expected to make up the time before the end of the week, which ends on friday, but they do try to work with you if there had been a problem that kept you from being able to work. I am in a state that has a lot of thunder storms during the summer and frequent power outages, and they have always tried to work with me when i was unable to work.

I'm so nervous about changing companies. I've only worked for OSi and now Nuance now that they took over. (I always worked at a hospital) It's scary about thinking about changing. My supervisor is so nice and flexible with schedule and breaks and sick time, etc.

Wow...I'm really liking the sound of this place more and more. I haven't done a lot of VR work, but I'm willing to learn all I need to know. ATSI was such a bad experience, so it is so good to know there are still companies and people out there that care about their employees. I'm really looking forward to my interview.

Anyone ever get fired from Amphion for not meeting line requirements? I work for them FT or more as needed and have yet to make the 12,000 line requirement. I've been with them for 6 months now and have not heard a peep about it. My QA is meeting requirements and my attendance is excellent, but I have yet to make the line count.
