Account at Trascend moving to BeyondTXT - Stressed

So we were informed our account is going to BeyondTXT. They said this is a great platform and we will be able to more than make up for the 50% paycut we will be taking. I just don't buy it though. Does anybody have anything good to say about BeyondTXT to put by fears at ease?

Don't know what platform you are migrating from, but there are a lot of things that BeyondTXT does for us that DEP didn't do. For instance, we no longer have to remember whether this account likes the text to start on the same line right after the major heading, or below, or whether they like their headings in all caps or not, with or without a colon following.

We just type the heading--and it gets fixed up exactly the way the client likes it at the back end. That alone saved me a lot of major headaches.

Numbered lists are another thing it does automatically.

We are moving from Bayscribe, which has never been my favorite.

Bayscribe was the easiest platform in the world to use - basically you just typed and didn't have to mess around with anything else! Kind of like the Medrite I used at MQ before they changed platforms. Bayscribe increased productivity because you didn't have to keep filling in headers, et cetera with patient demographics. What didn't you like about it?

Sorry. I guess I should have been more specific. I agree it is very simple to use, but I don't like that there is not a good way to make normals/templates where you can insert jump codes. (Where you can leave blanks in the template and just fill them in). All Bayscribe has is the quick correct.

I used to just put in an entire report and read thru it as that same type of report was dictated. Pretty easy to make simple changes....saved a lot of typing time....like VR, right? HA HA. :)

When I first started at MDI, the tech guy set it up for me. I use the @@ sign for my jump code and then ctrl+J to take me to each jump code. I'm not sure how he set it up, but it is possible to do.

I guess now that I am not going to be on Bayscribe anymore, it does not really matter. I asked about the jump codes when I started, and they told me there was no way to do it. That was my #1 complaint with Bayscribe. Sigh. I give up.

None of the posts there are going to be negative. They will mention the problems or glitches they might be having, but none of them will be negative comments. COUNT how many are having problems and glitches in the last 2 weeks.

BTXT is not user friendly at all. The demographic screen alone makes me scream. The actual typing platform isn't bad but it is slower than anything I've used and many steps to accomplish before you can actually type the report.

Thanks, Nuance, for moving me and several other MTs to what looks and sounds like a disastrous account just before the holidays. Yeah, the cents per line is a little bit higher than what I was making on my previous account, but when you factor in the slow going it will be because of the 73 PAGES OF ACCOUNT SPECS that we have to learn, the hundreds (maybe thousands?? There are many changes going on with Transcend. I have to agree with the OP. I've been with Transcend over 6 years. My account was recently changed to a new region, and I am so disaapointed. I cannot beleive the cherry picking going on wiith my account now. I was one of the initial MTs on this account to train the VR system and worked really hard to make it happen. Can anyone give me any insight to the BeyondText VR platform at Transcend. I have been offered a position that pays slightly less than my current company for VR. I have to pretty much train myself on this (as I expected, being an IC) and so far it seems very similar to the older BeyondTXT. I just started BeyondTxt so I am still new and getting used to the platform but when I worked Escript it was a big $$ maker for me. I'm finding that BeyondTxt does not pick up things like Escript did and a lot has to be redone, sometimes keeping only 1-2 lines of text and having to redo the whole rest of the report for only editing pay. I NEVER had to do this on Escript. It leaves off words and paragraphs and does not pick up very clear speach. Am I not giving it enough of a chance? I ...

I am dying to go back to working with Editscript where I made good money. I can't do BeyondTxt. You can't go 2 sentences without running into at least 1 edit and that is being generous becuase it is usually multiple edits in every sentence. It has no idea where to put commas. I felt that I had to let MTs know some information about the BeyondTXT platform.... I have been an acute care MT for 30 years and I recently went with Transcend/Nuance using the above platform. I have never felt more worthless in my life. I work for about half the pay, it takes longer to do because the drafts are so awful. You get marked down if you don't use shortcut keys to navigate or whatever and the object is to keep you fingers on the keyboard, but you cannot keep them in the position you need to for transcribing or fixing all the problems. I find my right hand is always on the control+delete key or end key, and my fingers constantly on the period or ...
