Used to love editing, then I tried BeyondTxt - sad editor

I am dying to go back to working with Editscript where I made good money. I can't do BeyondTxt. You can't go 2 sentences without running into at least 1 edit and that is being generous becuase it is usually multiple edits in every sentence. It has no idea where to put commas. They either have to be deleted or added. It doesn't learn specs. Doesn't know how to use hyphens and adds them to everything. What is spoken clear as a whistle comes out insane on the report.

Now I'm honestly scared to ever try editing again even though I used to be very proficient working on it. Please tell me it hasn't all changed for the worse in the year that I quit doing VR to straight transcription. I'm having shoulder issues and editing is so much easier on it than straight typing but I need a decent paycheck too.

Why if doing ok did you leave and then return to something not as profitable? I would see if you could find another VR on Editscript. You know it is a money maker and like you said, easy on the arms, hands, shoulders. Phooey on straight anymore, give me 100% VR each and every day.

and lack of work on my account. I was never given any work even though there were accounts with work on them. I like my account here and the team I work with BUT....the platform is a deal breaker. I'm definitely going to be going back to an Editscript job, just a little gun shy right now becuase of how horrible this platform is. I've heard nightmares about VR and never understood them until I tried this different platform. Now I get what all the fuss is about.

I am wondering why posting about you liked one, you know it, you switched to another, you should maybe want to find another job with the one you had in the first place. Again why the confusion in her post. You go with what you want, right?

I guess I never thought that Editscript was the ONLY good program out there. After trying the other though they don't compare at all and though I used to love editing I have been so turned off by it by the other editing platforms. I'm hoping to get back to the Editscript platform and be able to actually make a paycheck like I used to. It's just finding a job that uses Editscript, has good accounts and pleanty of work is the key.

Can anyone give me any insight to the BeyondText VR platform at Transcend. I have been offered a position that pays slightly less than my current company for VR. Hopefully leaving Nuance this week! Going to a company with Emdat as an IC. I have to pretty much train myself on this (as I expected, being an IC) and so far it seems very similar to the older BeyondTXT. I just started BeyondTxt so I am still new and getting used to the platform but when I worked Escript it was a big $$ maker for me. I'm finding that BeyondTxt does not pick up things like Escript did and a lot has to be redone, sometimes keeping only 1-2 lines of text and having to redo the whole rest of the report for only editing pay. I NEVER had to do this on Escript. It leaves off words and paragraphs and does not pick up very clear speach. Am I not giving it enough of a chance? I ...

I worked on DEP before too and heard that we will be switching to voice recognition before the end of the year also. My question is regarding the headings and how they rearrange things on the back end so that we don't have to worry about formatting. When I worked on DEP, it more or less did that also. Have to say, I love Mmodal. My CCM is caring and considerate and kind. Also, love the pay and hardly ever running out of work but when we do, that is a nice break for me. A new ESL dictating a DS. Can't speed him up because he's too "new" (to this country?). He is spelling every other word!!!!!! I love to be able to fill in blanks that people can't get and to help them. I wish I could give them detailed explainations so that they can understand the why of the error or resources I used to find it. Imagine 8 hours of looking up "J. A. Smith" in phone books to write down his/her phone number. Then searching for the modifier for his second line.
