If you woke up this morning with several hundred jobs out of TAT on a major account for IMEDX, you should not be surprised.
Imedx made their bed when they offered 12 hour TAT versus the 24 hour TAT that was prior, just to get an account. This is nothing new, this industry's MTSO have been lowering the bar just to get more accounts. QA over the years has gotten tougher, which a subjective 98.5% pass rate. When I tell everyone that my grandkid got a 97.4% on a test and was expelled, they are shocked. I then clarify that actually that is what happens to MTs when they fail at 97.4% or less, they get fired.
When you send out bonus alerts and barely anyone takes, then you know something is very, very wrong. The question is not how much MORE we can work to keep an account within TAT, it is how much longer an account is going to be mismanaged. In my 24 years of MT'in, I have never seen such a large account be given up without a fight.
It does not help that earlier in the week everyone was told to use it or lose it, in regard to PTOs. What a stupid, stupid decision, right before holidays/year's end/during a junky time. Talk about a morale messer' upper.
One silver lining is, I guess no other MTs from other countries are working in our company on our account, as we continually seem to be understaffed.
I don't know what to say that will get people thinking. It is hard to build a company, find leads, get interviews, close deals, and get major accounts. Why is IMEDX doing this? I am floored! I used to complain about MTSO's over-staffing accounts, now I find myself carping out why they haven't overstaffed accounts they are about to lose. If you think like me, give me a LIKE, and if you think I just complain for no reason at all (as if house payments didn't matter, security, food money from this job did not matter), then give me a NO LIKE.
