Coding jobs are directly in the revenue stream and they don't send them overseas. If you do the work, pass the certification, you will get a job. If you go up that ladder and take the next certification, you can choose anything you want going forward for your life. It will NEVER go overseas. MT is so... I don't want to say unimportant but it just isn't as important as what MTs think. Everything is better with a nice transcribed discharge summary, but not absolutely necessary. The hospitals and physician's offices cannot survive without accurate coding and billing.
