The first rule of owning a business: the owner gets paid only after everyone else gets paid. Period. Dot. Full stop. You don’t travel, you don’t go out to eat, you don’t do ANYTHING if it costs money you don’t really have because you haven’t made payroll. That is the price of being your own boss, and if you can’t figure out a way for everyone to get paid, you shouldn’t be in business. I once worked for an MTSO who spent payroll and payroll taxes at the casino; she’s no longer in business. That’s the natural order of things, and I’m truly befuddled why that hasn’t already happened at KS. But you can’t defy the natural order forever, and KS is no exception. Memo or no memo, KS will be defunct at some point; it’s just a matter of time. The definition of insanity...
