Their "proprietary" Fluency platform, plus the installation time of 3 to 5 hours as stated in their email reeks of a version of VDI.
Hopefully it will work out for you. Please make sure your home network is protected. That program can monitor it and potentially see who else is on your system.
That was one reason why I left a Nuance-based company. They went to the supervisor demanding to know why I had "so many devices" connected to my system while using the VDI. They wanted to get in and look and I told them right where to "F" off. My exact words both on the phone and through email.
