Yikes - Defensive Much

I mean, maybe under normal circumstances it wouldn't really matter, but when it sounds like things aren't really making a lot of sense and could be exaggerated, it's of interest to a lot of people.

Who doesn't notice they haven't been paid until they get a fee and have to "look back" and compare pay stubs to their bank account in order to figure it out? I think most of us would notice pretty quickly if we weren't paid when we were supposed to be. Especially if we were in such dire straits that we were unable to pay bills, ESPECIALLY to the extent where we were forced to leave our homes.

But then again, the defensive stance goes a long way in answering this question...
