If you have an easier way to create formatted lists with subsets please do share! 
The way I described is the only way I have figured out how to do it within the Inscribe program aside from just dropping down and spacing over to get to the subset (which creates spacing issues on upload, so I cannot do it that way, nor can I create the list in Word and copy and paste as format changes on crossover).
Need it to look like this:
1) First number.
a) First subset to #1.
b) Second subset to #1.
2) Second number.
a) First subset to #2.
b) Second subset to #2.
