InScribe – CREATING NUMBERED LIST WITH SUBSETS
This is a multistep process, so be very careful and note where your subset begins and the next main numbered entry begins. You will have to type everything as consecutive numbers first. It will look like the following:
1. First NUMBERED entry
2. First SUBSET entry
3. Second SUBSET entry
4. Third SUBSET entry, etc.
5. SECOND NUMBERED entry
6. SUBSET TO SECOND NUMBERED ENTRY.
Etc until all entries are made.
Steps are as follows:
1. Alt+O+5. This creates first numbered entry.
2. Type in list form as dictated. Again, each subset will be numbered as above – this will change with next steps.
3. Highlight subsets for each numbered entry. Using above example, for numbered entry #1, you would highlight numbers 2, 3, and 4 to create subset.
4. Hit TAB key, keep highlighted.
5. Right click highlighted entries – Numbered List Properties box will open.
6. Under “Type” box, click arrow and choose how you would like subset numbered/lettered.
7. Hit OK.
8. Do this for each subset following major numbered dictation.
It looks/sounds difficult, but once you do it one time it is really easy. Hope this helps.
