Of course coders care about charges and correct codes. We even appeal when there are correct codes because insurance companies do not like to pay. Some even deny everything right away and wait for the appeal because they make interest on their money that way.

The discussion was about commas and the poster wanting to send a book on punctuation to the doctors. Insurance companies and coders do not waste their efforts on punctuation and it is silly to think otherwise.
