It took me a very long time to get things the way I wanted them, that were the most beneficial to me, but I am glad I did it the way I did. One of my accounts also pays into a retirement fund for me, which is an added bonus.
So many on this board, when you say have a good job/work situation, assume you have on "rose-colored glasses" and make foolish statements about personal situations they know nothing about, which makes them look even more foolish.
I have always been VERY PROACTIVE in my work/career, as have you, and it has served me well. I learned everything I could at each facility I worked, even if it had nothing to do with transcription, as I knew at some point, it may benefit me in other ways. I am glad I did that.
It sounds like you, too, have worked very, very hard at our profession. I wish you all the best!!!
