Isn't that special (response) - Cheryl

I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but I'm pretty much in the same boat as the poster. I'm 58, married, and made a boatload of money in the '90s. My house is paid off, I work some MT jobs, and have an Etsy shop. My husband has a full-time job working for the state. I have no debt. It's really not about how much you make; it's about how much you have left over. Even with a relatively low salary, there is very little overhead to do MT and no commuting costs. It's not an ideal situation anymore, but for some people like me it's not tragic. Plus I really like the work. I've never been stressed either; in fact, I think it is the least stressful job out there. VR editing doesn't even seem like working to me -- just reading a chart and fixing the mistakes. This is so much easier for me than actually typing. I've worked for some duds out there, but I've just quit and moved on. I do a really good job wherever I go, but if things get stupid, I don't hesitate to quit. I would love to be a full-time maker one day, but for now MT helps me buy supplies, etc. I'm really glad I have this skill. If a better situation opens up for me, though, I could leave MT in a moment without looking back. :) In all honesty, however, I couldn't even attempt to run a household with what I make doing MT.
