It has been several years since I was involved in Career Step. I had 30+ years of experience as an MT and was not given the option to test out of anything. Perhaps they have changed the curriculum but I had an online program that was proprietary to CS, no textbooks and there were errors throughout the course. The instructor support was a joke. I was working 40 hours a week at the time so it took me longer to finish but I learned very little and truthfully couldn't code my way out of a paper bag. I'm glad you did so well but I think you are exceptional and not the norm.
