The only way you are paid for PTO is if your state legally requires it to be paid out upon termination. If you live in a state that does not require it (like mine), you can give 2 weeks or no notice and will not be paid. Notice affects whether or not you are eligible for re-hire. Your alternative is to call in sick for the PTO hours and then give notice.
