Time to Move On - She

I have been working here for about 12 years. Used to make $30/hour straight typing. Then eventually $12 mostly editing. My rate just dropped again. It's inevitable that our jobs are becoming obsolete. I am nearly 50 years old and just started 2 weeks ago getting my paralegal A.A.S. degree at a community college. Job is in high demand if you have a prior 4-year degree (which fortunately I got back in 1991) and the industry actually prefers older paralegals for this type of work b/c they have a greater attention span than millennials and also are more patient and less hungry to be lawyers (which I don't want to be). They are happy doing research, briefs, legal prep, etc. It's a pretty stress free job and pays well, too. I will be working at MModal until I get my first job, but I will graduate in May 2018. Hopefully, the work won't disappear before then. Get ready for the future. Train in something else...go for something that probably won't be taken over by computers (at least not in the next 10-15 years).
