If you don't "split your shift" just exactly as you are supposed to, she will deny your PTO or shift swap, whatever. I e-mailed her once that I was late to my shift and she replied that I also needed to call her personally. If not, it's grounds for denial. Which - BTW - is one of her favorite phrases - "grounds for denial." The most rigid, cold-hearted, unwavering, total B-word I have ever, ever, ever had the misfortune to work for. Good luck!!
