I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for any QA position to be okay. If it is okay, it won't be for long. You don't say if you have a production requirement right now. If you don't, you might be better off where you are. I had to QA 14 reports per hour, with no consideration that 75% of them were full QA specific to the MT, dictator or account, and the other 25% extremely difficult ESL's where I had to figure out the blanks, but not necessarily full QA.
As you know, QA gets blamed for the MTs mistakes, even when the MT isn't on full QA.
So, the MTs who have never done QA need to sit in the QA position for a week before deciding if anyone is a queenie.
Both MT and QA are extremely stressful positions and I don't see where switching companies will help.
