of very low wages. That is not the highest issue as I see it. The issue is being treated like an employee and demands placed on the MT that a business can only place upon an employee. If I am going to be treated like an employee, I want the benefits, especially taxes, paid. If I am treated as an employee with the demands to work a schedule in any form, then I need to be classified as an employee. To be honest, we are well past the point to demand any real increase in wages because no one stood up and said no from the beginning when we recognized the downturn in wages and where this industry was headed.
