dinged for blanks - oldie Posted: Mar 10th, 2016 - 7:28 pm
I have been at this for over 40 years. At 75, I think I must be one of the oldest MTs. Lately I have been getting dinged all over the place for asking QA to help with a blank, especially with numbers by dictators who pronounce both 2 and 3 as "twee"...alll I need sometimes is somebody with a fresh ear...but then if they do hear it (or say they do), I get point deductions and down I go on the grid!
Anybody remember the old days in an "office" when you turned to your co-worker and asked for a listen and then you could hear it...now I guess if you asked for a listen, your pay would go down.
These dings may be the very minor detail that makes me say adios...
