If you go to the AHIMA web site, it will detail the requirements to sit for the CCS exam, either by experience or education. They detail the courses that must be covered in your education. When you apply, you certify that you have met that requirement. If you are audited, you need to provide your school transcript. So you can look at the courses included to determine if you would be eligible to sit for the exam. You can see the various requirements here http://www.ahima.org/certification/CCS
